The author of this book, Wendy Berry, was housekeeper at Highgrove House, the Prince and Princess of Wales' country home from 1985 until they separated in 1992. It is a rare chance to peek behind the scenes into the Wales' private lives and it is very illuminating. What impressed me was the author's impartiality -- fairly stating the shortcomings, as she saw them, of the famous couple and how those flaws contributed to their eventual break-up. For Royal Watchers, this is a must read! A quick, fascinating read that I highly recommend!

This was sort of like peeking through a keyhole in a royal palace. A quick read, revealing many details of royal life the general public never knows.....I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!

Excellent account of life of a royal housekeeper in the household of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. It is a must read. It was also banned in England, it is a rare book of the private lives behind closed doors of the Royal couple and their habits and fights.
