There were a few lines in this book where I would start to laugh, the lines weren't long enough, so I would stop the laugh. The laughs while I was reading sounded more like hiccoughs.
So for a hiccupping good time, you should grab a copy of this book!!!

this funny light book and i love it. fast reading.

LOL humor! Typical Evanovich but not as polished as the Plum series. These characters are great though, still bust a gut funny. I read this on a boring afternoon, and it sure made my day brighter. If you're looking for light, fluffy and funny with a little mystery tossed in, this one's for you!
Helpful Score: 3
I never thought I would laugh so hard reading a book, but Evanovich had me in tears laughing! Her zany characters intriqued me so much I am now reading all of her books!

Read this book if you need a couple of good laughs. It's light and funny with some sexy mystery and romance thrown in. Perfect for a gloomy day or lonely weekend.

For some reason I thought this was part of the Full series... but almost from the first page I found it to be rather funny. Quick read... would like to see more from this duo.

This was the best book I've read in a long time. I laughed so hard in places because I have known a few guys like that in my lifetime. Easy reading a great story line and good material.

I loved it. I read it in two evenings. This would be a great book to read at the beach. If you like Janet Evanovich then you will love this book.
I LOVE the Stephanie Plum novels, but I was really disappointed in this book. Some giggle moments, but the characters were not as likable as they are in other Evanovich novels. It is a lightweight book, a quick read, but not quite up to snuff with her other novels.

Cute story and a quick read!

Great Chic Lit! A little bit of romance and mystery. Definately good read!
Cleverly plotted light-hearted story. Included is a wacky family of Irish-blooded, red-headed college girl making her "own" financial way through college tending bar. Her roommate gets them a HUGE bullmastiff that is just a baby. Fun and funny story makes a 'worth-it' read!

I could not put down Hot Stuff! I enjoy Leanne Banks books, but join her with Janet Evanovich and you've got an instant winner. This book takes us through Cate Madigan's journey to find a mate... not of her Irish family's choosing, or even of her own, since Kellen "McBride" Koster actually does the choosing. Together with Beast, the lovable bullmastif, they find a missing friend, break a jewel theft case, unite a hairy Pugg with a country writer and find happiness together.

Great humor and typical Evanovich. A quick read for someone looking for fun!

Another cute book from Janet Evanovich. I couldn't quit laughing.
I like Cate Madigan and I rooted for Kellen "McBride" all through the book. I will definitely be reading more of Janet Evanovich
An aspiring teacher, Cate studies by day and bartends by night, living in the arty South End of Boston with an often-absent drag queen named Marty Longfellow. It's the perfect living arrangement~~*a big strong roommate...no interest in women*, plenty of alone time and low rent-turns wholly suspicious when Marty disappears, leaving behind a lovable bullmastiff. Cate's sexy love interest, barroom regular Kellen McBride, is an *independent recovery agent* who believes that Marty is responsible for a string of one-of-a-kind jewelry heists. After Marty's place gets tossed, Cate teams up with him to track down the missing Marty before whoever's after him comes after her. Like other Evanovich novels, there's a madcap race to the finish while mysteries are solved and hearts are stolen; also like other Evanovich novels, it makes for a highly satisfying read.
A quick read with lots of laughter. I always enjoy their books.
Fun read! Typical Evanovich.
Great book and just the perfect pick me up on a very gray day.
cute story....
Great fun read. Couldn't put it down!!!
Evanovich fans will be delighted with this new novel, co-written with relative up-and-comer Banks. Working her formula to its fullest, Evanovich conjures the large, close, gently eccentric Madigan family that 26-year-old college student Cate calls her own. Very fun with classic Evanovich characters. Quick read.
A cute, fun romantic story. A mystery, cute guy and a dog. Evanovich fun.
Very Funny .A thriller that is a fun reading experiance.
Very witty and fun!

Once again, Janet & friend do not disappoint. This is a fast, fun read; with the zany characters that this author makes work so well! Great beach book, laugh out loud funny. ENJOY
Very quick read. Somewhat cheesy mystery & romance. I read it in about 3 hours. Definitely kept me interested, but there wasn't much substance. Would make a great beach/vacation/lazy day read.
A fast, funny, very quick read. Laugh out loud in many places. Typical Janet E.
Not quite as good as the Plum books but a fun read anyway
A fun read. But not much to it.
loved this book! The dog in the story is so cute! and the sexy...guy has some wonderful things to say~
Classic Evanovich. I love the Julie character and her stories from Alabama. Reminds me of Rose from the Golden Girls with her inappropriate tales. Good mix of humor, mystery and romance. Throw in a 120 pound dog for a quick and easy read. 3.5 stars
I thought this was a well written quick read. I fell in love with the characters, even Pugg eventually. And I loved the dog, Beast. This is a story with romance, comedy and mystery all entwined into one. This story will not disappoint.
quick, predictable, easy read
I loved this book. I haven't laughed so much in a long time. I especially liked Julie she talked just like me but she was from Alabama and I'm from Texas. She's right just because you don't use big words doesn't mean your dumb! Great read.
very fast, easy read......just makes you smile
I am a huge Janet Evanovich fan; this is not one of her better stories.
The book jacket summary sounded very interesting to me, it had real potential to be a lighthearted, intriguing romance. The book started out decent enough, I immediately liked the main character, Cate, and fell for her and her crazy Irish family. At the same time I was falling for the Madigan's I was introduced to a not so lovable character, Patrick Pugg. This guy is so annoying it really takes away from the rest of the story. I feel he was inserted into the story to garner some laughs; unfortunately he had the opposite effect on me. He constantly refers to himself in the third person, everything is "Pugg this" and "Pugg that." It was exhausting and exasperating to read! He had absolutely zero redeeming qualities; any normal person would have sprayed this guy with mace and taken out a restraining order. For you Plum fans, think of all the faults and quirks of the character Albert Kloughn, add a few more, than multiply and magnify by 100.
The rest of the characters were endearing and likable. Kellen McBride is a lovable hero and it's easy to see why he and Cate are so attracted to one another. The whole mystery of the missing drag queen roommate and the other surprises (don't want to spoil anything) also had some potential, but ended up falling flat for me. The ending and the wrap up of the mystery was completely unbelievable and ridiculous. And just when I'd think it couldn't get any more far fetched, it would. While I know this is fiction, and I appreciate the land of make believe, I always prefer a little reality in my books.
The humor and the dialogue seemed really forced and childish to me. Nothing in this book made me laugh out loud, like I normally do with a Janet read, I barely smiled at some parts. Another problem with this story was the introduction of yet another dog. I was happy this one didn't resort to the normal dog antics, but the dog thing is getting a bit stale for me. Not the worst book I have read, but far from the best.

This was a very quick read but I really enjoyed the book.
This one is probably my favorite of her short stories.
loved this book!! It was a quick read, kinda fas paced and funny. Would recomend.
Really great read.
Funny through and through
Funny through and through
This is a funny tale about a woman whose drag-queen roommate gets her into some serious trouble with some serious people, and then goes missing. Luckily, she has someone to help her look out for herself. An incredibly attractive someone. She also has a big, slobbery dog she's stuck with that looks out for the two of them. This book is pretty funny and it's great for light reading.
very funny book of course its from janet. loved this book as much as i love her other books.
This book seemed a little like the Stephanie Plum series - similar characters and plot. I feel very drawn to anything that Janet writes and I do enjoy her style of writing. Great book and very fast read.
Another quick bon-bon from Evanovich, this time with Leanne Banks, featuring yet another big dumb dog (who's actually part of the plot structue this time), a sassy Irish bartender heroine, stolen hewelry, a hunky "recovery specialist", and some appropriately quirky buddies. This one has start-of-a-series written all over it. Not as funny as Plum, but close.
Pure and delightful Evanovich!
I'm a big fan of Evanovich's Stephanie Plum novels. I thought this would be in the same line as those, but sadly, it was not. It was the worst Evanovich I've ever read! Not sure why, but I hope she hasn't lost her touch!
Very lighthearted, easy read.
Cute quick read!
Decent book. Not as good as the Stephanie Plum books but better than the Full series.
A light-hearted romp with zany characters, some of who fall in love.
A Very Quick Read! But really, really good. Loved it.....
Very funny, Loved it
Oh my gosh! If you love Janet Evanovich - this is another great one. I think I had more time - I could have read it one day. I wouldn't hesitate at all in getting this book all over again.
Cute girl, hunky guy, big slobbering dog, six-foot-tall drag queen. The only thing that's missing is an old lady with a gun.
Very Funny! I laughed out loud! Nice addition to the Evanovich collection.
Cute fast read!
Fun quick read
Excellent!!
Cate's cross-dressing, singer roommate is in trouble, and has left Cate to face the bad guys. Her mother has introduced her to Pug as a possible husband candidate, who only refers to himself in the third person. But, Cate is attracted to Kellen, a new customer at the bar where she works. Kellen is certainly attracted to Cate, but has an ulterior motive. Throw in two zany girl friends, a bullmastif named Beast, and the mystery surrounding her missing roommate, and Cate has her hands full.
Great Read, first of her books I have read. Read it straight through in a couple of hours. I think its just been re-released this book is new. Happy Reading! Guess I found ANOTHER author I love!
This is a fun, light romance. It's a quick read and I got some chuckles. Kind of a light mystery/romance.
cute chick book - moves quickly, quirky characters.
A fun read.
A fun read.
Another great book by Ms. Evanovich! This is a quick fun read! Great book to read during your summer vacation!
Sexy and fun effort from some great authors
This isn't as good as the Stephanie Plum series, but a quick, enjoyable read.
Pretty disappointing book. Not very entertaining.
Typical Evanovich romance, full of a cast of quirky funny characters. A nice quick read.
Funny book-love the dog stealing the undies!
A cute, quick, easy read.
Good quick read. Snappy dialogue and not too steamy!!!
It's not Stephanie, it is Cate in Boston. Whacky characters, a Mr. Yummy, a great dog, all in all a good, fast read.
I loved this - very typical Evanovich style - laugh out loud and enjoy the escapism of the story of Cate, Beast and all of the other wonderful characters.
Okay read, read it in one sitting. Not at all up to Evanovich's standards though.
A really cute read by one of the funniest authors of all time. Cate Madigan and her wacky Irish family are all too funny. Then Cate's cross-dressing roommate disappears and a bull-matiff named Beast shows up with a note from Marty for her to take care of him. But when ex-cop Kellen McBride starts asking questions the sparks start to fly.
Fun read with lots of zany characters. Read it the same day I received it.
wonderful book , such a great and quick read .. funny story would like to see a book 2.
