This is a wonderfully written book. It's not a "feel good" book, but more of an indepth look at the relationship between a race horse and groom. There is information here that will make you want to know more about how the racing world REALLY is. There is quite a bit of information on other great horses and grooms as well. When I read about how these horses are normally buried when they die, it was a bit upsetting for me. I think this book tells more of what the real story was concerning Big Red and the people involved in his life and career, rather than the "feel good" books and movie.

Super book with a lot of unknown facts about Secretariat and his groom, Eddie Sweat. This book is insightful on the role of grooms. Several very nice photos of them both. He was an amazing horse made even more so by an amazing groom who shared his love with Big Red.
