Harlan Coben books are an automatic read for me. The last few have been mediocre at best and I have been disappointed.
Home was a little slow moving at first and not quite up to Coben's usually exciting, "can't put down" adventure. Nonetheless, I love Myron and Win along with Mickey and girlfriend Ema. Together they look for two boys who were kidnapped 10 years previous and the story moves along at a better pace.
Some big twists you don't see coming, when many secrets are finally revealed until finally justice is served.
The very last page made me tear up along with Win and pulled at my heartstrings!! Great ending!

Home is the first Harlan Coben book I have read, but it is the eleventh book in the Myron Bolitar series. Clearly, I have been missing out! The book moves quickly and keeps the suspense going until the very last page. That, in itself, is enough for a great mystery. The added bonus of this book is that it is as much about the characters as the plot, and I love the characters!

I was so excited when I heard there was a new Myron book! Now that I've read it, I'll say Don't hold your breath! Nothing to get excited about. Not the usual Harlan Coben, sit on the edge of my seat, can't wait to get back to reading book. Mediocre at best.
I would give this 5 stars but, for me, it had too much filler
It has been several years since the last Bolitar/Win book, although this one is good (4 stars) it was bogged down with too much filler, Coben has to explain nearly detail that was in all the previous books, the background on each of the 'main' characters, then again for the 'minor' characters and that just took up pages and time to wade through, then add background for each characters 'past' and 'childhood' etc, you get pages of his parents, his brother/sister, nephew and so on
If this is a first Coben book for you then I understand where that would be to your benefit but for the fans of the series that have already read the previous series then it was just time consuming

I would have to say that this is definitely my favorite Myron Bolitar book. I loved how it switched from Win's voice to Myron's voice throughout. The ending was very fast-paced and quite a surprise for me. Now that I have finished all the books, I am looking forward to reading the whole series again. There is a lot of wit and humor in Coben's books and I think another reading is wholly justified in order to make sure not to miss any important innuendos. I would highly recommend this series if you like mystery books that make you chuckle.
I've read many books written by Harlan Coben but this one in my opinion wasn't one of his best. The book starts with a good plot but really stalls for most of the remainder, even the ending didn't measure up.

First let me state this book can easily read as a stand-a-lone, but the main characters have a history and after reading this book you will want to know that history.
The story starts with Myron getting a call from Win. Ten years ago two boys went missing and for Win it is personal because one of the boys was family. After all this time Win receives information that puts him back on the trail and he needs Myron's help. These two are like the dynamic duo only while Myron is the star of these books he is more often Robin to Win's Batman.
While Myron does make appearances in Coben's young adult series, Live Wire, the last Myron Bolitar thriller was published in 2011, so at first I was worried first about my memory of everything Bolitar but also if during the years away the characters wouldn't live up to my hopes. Coben has written some stellar thrillers since we last visited these characters so the bar was set really high. Well, I need not have worried, my memories picked up like I has read the previous book the day before and Coben hits this one out of the park!
Myron, Win (Windsor Lockhorne III), Esperanza and Big Cindi are all back. Mickey, Myron's nephew and his girlfriend and friend Spoon (Young Adult Series) along with Myron's parents are all involved in this book. We meet more of Win's family and the other missing boy's family too. Plus the criminals who play a part in this story. They are all vital and spring from the pages.
The entire plot starts and ends with gripping and astounding twists, exactly what I expect from this author. The story has tons of drama, action, and mystery along with several edge of your seat moments. Family interactions and deep psychological matters are revealed that had me absolutely stunned. There are some moments of humor too that fans of Myron and Win will truly appreciate. These two are a pair like no other.
The pace is so fast. I wanted to savor this story I had been waiting so long for but with points of view continually switching between Myron and Win that was impossible. I did the just one more chapter thing so many times I just gave up and stayed up and finished the whole thing and again at the end I exclaimed "WOW!" His books tend to have that effect on me.
In recent years my reading has been more on the cozy side but if I had to choose my all time favorite author my answer has been and will be Harlan Coben. His writing grabs me by the collar and doesn't let go. I anxiously await each new book. As I finished this one I thought is this the last Bolitar novel? The characters seem to be in a good place so it could be but I sure hope it is not. I do know that whatever this author writes I am going to want to read it immediately so I can't wait to see where he takes me next.

I LOVED this book!! I especially liked the narrative switching back and forth between Myron and Win. There were so many twists and turns that the Ah ha moments kept it moving. This is the best of the best from Mr. Coben.
Good story; I especially liked the chapters written in the first person from the perspective of Joe Pike. He's always such a mystery when Elvis Cole is narrating, that I enjoyed the character development afforded by showing things from his perspective.
