This was a really great read! Although not outwardly religious, I find it exciting to read about those who live their lives trying to follow God's plan. For Ms. Braestrup, that involves working as the chaplain for a group of Wildlife Search and Rescue Operatives.

This book isn't just about religion -- it's about the author's desire to both follow her heart and honor her deceased husband's dream, and about helping others in the only way she knew how.

Very encouraging and uplifting, this is basically just an all-around good read.

My book group read this book. It's interesting. A woman becomes a clergy member, mostly because her husband had wanted to. He dies in an accident, and she takes over his life. That part seems sad to me, but it doesn't to her, and it's her life. She likes what she does. She helps people who have lost a friend or loved one in the woods or in nature, and they are waiting for people who are searching for them. She is there for them, and isn't pushy about religion. She is also there for the rescue workers. That is her job. She seems to be an interesting person with a nice vocabulary.
The book was fun to read, but not all that inspiring. It was very matter of fact.

Kate Braestrup has written a very real and sometimes funny look at grief and healing. Her way through the pain was becoming a chaplain to search-and-rescue teams. She is honest about her faith and sometimes lack of ability to comfort. WOW! The honesty with which she wrote this book is moving.

Fabulous book. This is an author whom I would be so pleased to meet. She is truly a woman of substance.

Kate is a widow in the state of Maine. After her husband was killed in a car accident whe becomes a minister (which was his dream). She becomes a chaplain to search and rescue workers. This is her story on finding God and love. The stories are not sequential but it doesn't change her message.

I love her stuff. I feel I really LIKE her as a person, even if our religious views differ.

The support that Kate received from her kids and the humor with which she dealt with the every day workload is incredible. She lost her husband, had 4 children to raise and never was negative about her situation. Very inspiring woman, would love to read more by her.
