This one was hard to put down and kept me guessing.
Similar to Mary Higgins Clark but better
Very Good Book!I now plan to read all her books.Couldn't put it down til the end!!
`Not Guilty' is an up-all-night, adrenaline fueled, thriller that can't be set aside until all the secrets are revealed. Twist after twist you will be held spellbound trying to figure out where the book is going, and just when you think you have it figured out another twist comes in and throws you off track.
Patricia MacDonald has crafted a masterpiece of suspense, very similar to the early works of Joy Fielding, she grabs her reader early on and hurtles them through one of the most enjoyable thrillers I have read in years.
I can't recommend this book highly enough, anyone looking for a suspenseful thriller should run out and buy this for it is that good, it deserves to be bestseller!

Keely Bennett was shattered by her husband suicide, which her son saw. And now it is that son the police are accusing of murder, can she clear her son. But there is someone lurking close by.
The story starts out with the suicide of the main character's husband. Fast forward, she winds up marrying his best (childhood) friend. They have a baby girl and then tragedy strikes one night. Her son had witnessed his father's suicide, now he is a person of interest in the death of his step father. Weas his death an accident? To make things even more interesting, the prosecuting attorney is the jilted ex fiance of the step father, Keely's husband, and she is not a "happy camper." Does she have an ax to grind or is she just doing her job? There are more twists and turns in this book than a mountain road. Lots of surprises too. If you are looking for a non stop thriller, this book is for you. Murders, suicide, and people with past (childhood) relationships with one of the main characters pop up. There are a lot of surprises in this book. It will have you guessing till the last page.
An exciting thriller..could not put it down! One of the best from MacDonald!
Very good book ! Always enjoy Patricia MacDonald's mystery/thrillers.....filled with suspense that keeps you rapidly turning the pages!
"Not Guilty" is full of suspense and drama. MacDonald writes about her characters in a way that makes you empathize with them and what they're going through.
This is a rewritten storyline
It goes into too much detail about things and only make for more pages to the book, so it should've had about 75 pages cut out to make it a little tighter story without all the details.

NOT GUILTY was the July 2015 bonus book in my online book club, The Reading Cove.
Patricia MacDonald definitely knows how to pull you in and set the stage for a compelling and intriguing mystery. The characters in this book felt real, well developed and flawed.
Keely Bennett found herself widowed not once but twice and all fingers pointed to her son, although the reader knows he must be innocent...right?
The reveal in the end is a great twist and ties many loose ends you didn't even realize were there, but I must say I did find it a tad overwrought, but still enjoyable.
I wouldn't recommend this book over a couple of her others, like MARRIED TO A STRANGER and THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, but it kept my interest. I give NOT GUILTY a B-.
