I love this series, but did not like this one as well as some of the others. I could not guess the killer, but somehow, it seemed a bit of a stretch. I didn't get that satifying feeling that of course that was the killer. I felt as though details had to be twisted to make the killer the killer. Maybe it's just me--still worth the read, for the southern atmosphere alone-- and, of course, I love the characters.

Greedy Bones is an intriguing and relevant detective murder mystery, and one of my favorites of the Delany Detective series. Carolyn Haines weaves plot of intrigue, interesting twists and turn, with unexpected outcomes once again. I had trouble putting this one down! If you are interested in murder mysteries, positive relationships supporting each other during difficult times, and intriguing setting, consider trying Greedy Bones, and the full series of Delaney Detective Agency.

This series is a fun read. Great characters, good mystery plot (keeps you guessing) and just a touch of humor. The Southern setting is interesting and gives a small window into a different world. The element of a resident ghost is a super literary touch.

I have enjoyed all of Carolyn Haines books with Sarah Booth Delaney. I have read the entire series and enjoyed them all.

The wisecracks throughout the mystery along with her dedication to her friends is fun reading. Her family haint (or ghost) always make me wonder if she is throwing hints around to help her solve the mystery. I thought the plot was really interesting, there was a suprise twist at the end. Rooting for her to find romance, get married and keep her detective agency open to keep the books coming. Love her BFF's too.

Meet Sarah Booth Delaney... an unconventional southern belle whose knack for uncovering the truth is about to make her the hottest detective in Zinnia, Mississippi... if it doesn't make her the deadest. Sarah Booth and Tinkie have returned to Zinnia, Mississippi to find Oscar, Tinkie's husband, near death--and no one is certain what happened to him. But Oscar isn't the only person who comes down with a strange malady. Deputy Gordon Walters falls ill, as do two female realtors. And the Carlisle plantation is the only thing that connects all four victims. Sheriff Coleman Peters is forced to call in experts from the Centers for Disease Control. Tinkie implores Sarah Booth to find the cause of the illness so maybe Doc Sawyer can find a cure. The clock is ticking as Sarah Booth begins to dig into the tortured past of the Carlisle plantation and the family whose name the land bears. There's a lot at stake, but Sarah Booth doesn't really know how much. The plot is more complicated than she ever thought.

Sarah Booth Delaney, a Southern belle known for abiding by tradition only when it suits her, is no stranger to drama. A talented actress and a P.I., she's chosen to pursue a career in Hollywood when she hears that her best friend's husband is suddenly on his deathbed back home in Mississippi---and he's not the only one. The vicious illness begins with burning fevers and delirium, quickly plunging its victims into a coma. The Centers for Disease Control is on the scene, but they can't find a cure for it or the boll weevils that are decimating Sunflower County's cotton crop. With patients in quarantine and the whole town in crisis, Sarah drops everything to stop the outbreak and save the only place she's ever been able to call home.
