Delightful, an entertaining read.
An enjoyable read, if a bit predictable and anticlimactic.
A charming story set in Provence, with both French & British humor.
Peter Mayle's writing is my magic-carpet trip to France. Can't afford to go there, but he takes me there with his words, images, characters. Loved the movie they made from this story.
I just loved reading this book. It is well written & kept my interest-Excellent "local color" of the people, foods & region of Provence! I learned a lot about wines. A fun read!
What an enjoyable cd. Peter Mayle writes lovely stories, but hearing it aloud makes it even better. Great motivator for me to get on the exercise bike!
This is a lovely book and the reader's voice was captivating. I love the glimpses into France and European life.
Enjoyable novel set in Provence. This is a gentle read, nice and light, no convoluted plot twists, just a stroll through the Luberon.
The reviews on Amazon about this book are very accurate. This is a good Peter Mayle book and I've read most of his books but the movie, in my opinion is better. How rare is that! This book is interesting and relaxing to read the movie has more of an edge to it. Both are worth reading/seeing. The cover shown is the right cover, the paper on the cover is nubbley
