Rachel Manija Brown's memoir of her unconventional upbringing on an ashram in india is lyrical, riveting and funny. Inspiring, generous and never whiney.

The book is a good read--witty and fast-paced. But the author seems to be getting out some personal issues, at the expense of her family, that would have been better dealt with ahead of time, off the page. I didn't trust her to be fair-minded, which ruined the book a little.
