Nobody writes thrillers like Harlan Coben. He keeps you interested with lots of twists and turns, but plays very fair with you (unlike a lot of bestseller authors).
Helpful Score: 1
Typical suspenseful Coben novel, with a most complex plot thats hard even for Myron Bolitar to figure out. Good, quick read.

I found Harlan Coben just last year and have read every single book he has on the market. I love his writing and the way he builds his characters. It is an absolute pleasure to read his books in order and see their progression.
originally I thought the sports aspect would be a turn-off for me, but it has so little to do with the story that it didn't bother me at all.
If you're looking for a quick, good, fun read, this is the book for you.

I love anything from Harlan Coben. This series is one of the best around. IT's funny, it's smart, and you cant put it down.

Excellent addition to the Myron Bolitar series, Esperanza is arrested for murder and won't let Myron help. He helps anyway and untangles a devious plot.
While Myron Bolitar is on a tropical island forgetting all his problems, Myron's client, Baseball Star Clu Haid, was found murdered in his home. Esperanza is arrested and neither she or her attorney will talk to Myron. Determined to help her, Myron starts digging into the last days of Clu's life. Clue was Myron's first ever client who he helped out of scrapes to keep his career on the right path. Now Myron's investigation leads him to believe Esperanza was framed, and Myron was the real target.
Another great addition to the Myron Bolitar series. In this book we learn a little more about what makes Myron tick. We also see a lot more of one of my favorite characters, Big Cyndi. Once again I got to the end of the book and had no idea who was behind the murder. But Coben ties all the loose ends together brilliantly and leaves me ready to pick up the next book. My rating: 5 Stars.

Myron is determined to help Esperanza, his partner, who's been accused of killing one of their clients. But neither she or her lawyer are talking. So Myron must trace the rise and fall of the victim, a pitcher who's been making a comeback w/the Yankees.
I hate letting go of my beloved early Harlan Coben's but if someone out there will enjoy them just as much....Myron Bolitar is quite a character.
Another Coben special. this guy involves you in the thought process.

Fun series, quick read for the summer, recommend
Another one to love from the fertile and funny mind of Harlan Coben. Myron Bolitar is fast becoming one of my favorite sleuths, and Coben is already one of my favorite authors. Any fan of the series, or of sports, will enjoy this one.
Bolitar series--another great Coben.

Book Description
His heart is broken. His partner is in jail. And someone is trying to kill him.
Then Myron Bolitar gets some really bad news....
For sports agent Myron Bolitar, it seemed like the perfect vacation. A tropical beach. A warm breeze. A little uncomplicated passion with a woman he barely knows. Myron is almost in heaven when his friend Win shows up with a message that blasts him back to reality: Esperanza is in trouble. It's time to come home.
Now Myron is back in New York, determined to help Esperanza, his best friend and partner, who's been accused of killing one of their clients. But Esperanza isn't talking. Neither is her lawyer. And to prove his friend's innocence, Myron must trace the rise and fall of the victim, a pitcher who had been making a comeback with the Yankees. Suddenly the investigation is leading Myron to places he'd rather not go: into a family's agony, through the city's sexual underground, and to a moment buried on the dark side of a brilliant sports career.... Twelve years ago a young agent named Bolitar tried to help an up-and-coming athlete. It was a fatal mistake--and now Myron will have to pay the price....
My Review
This is the 6th book of the Myron Bolitar series and was a quick, entertaining read. With each book, the reader gets more background on the main characters and this was no different. Coben has the ability to make you laugh and cry in the same sentence and this was a very enjoyable book in that respect. The book has lots of dialogue that keeps the story moving and the characters are very-well drawn. I look forward to reading the 7th book in the series and I highly recommend this book to those who love dry wit mixed in with their mystery and suspense.

This book is not quite up to Coben's normal writing. It has a great final few chapters, but there is a lot of foot dragging in the middle. Easy to speed read and not lose the plot and it's details.
Good read.
I am back tracking trying to read all of the old books, am doing it out of order but I really do like Myron and Win. This was a good one and I never figured it out, which I am usually pretty good at.
This is a great author and he has done another good job of keeping you in suspense.
Am reading this book now......love it so far.....cannot wait to see "Who Did It"....
Harlan Coban does it again. EXCELLENT you may not put it DOWN!!

Not one of Coben's better books featuring Myron B. but it was still a good read.
I love the Myron Bolitar series and this one did not disappoint!
Good read.
Myron Bolitars colleague at MB SportsReps, Esperanza, has been arrested for the murder of a client, a fallen baseball star attempting a comeback. Myron is determined to prove Esperanzas innocenceeven if she wont speak to him on the advice of her lawyer, who warns Myron to keep away from both the case and his client. But Myron is already too close, too involved, and has too much at stake. And the closer Myron gets to the truth, the more the evidence points to the only viable suspect besides Esperanza: Myron himself.
Very good!
Harlan Coben is quickly moving up my list of favorites.
Is somewhat worn, and has a stamp from a book exchange inside front cover. The first two pages were slightly ripped and taped together when I got it through either this club or another one I belong to.
