A TERRIFIC MYSTERY / COURTROOM NOVEL
This will all sound trite, but it's true. Definitely keeps your interest, a page turner, cleverly plotted, surprises at every turn....
But...the ENDING... The ending is amazing. If you like the kind of ending where you're not only surprised, but the surprise makes logical sense without introducing unknown facts and you are totally satisfied... evil is undone with most gratifying results... then you'll like this book.
Perhaps one of the best mystery / courtroom books I've read and it definitely has one of the best endings I've ever read.

Another fine courtroom drama from Connelly. Mickey Haller defends a woman accused of murdering the bank executive in charge of foreclosing on her home. I liked that Connelly didn't add sub-plots or side stories, he stuck to the main plot line and that speaks to the strength of this novel. "The Lincoln Lawyer" is the Haller novel most people are familiar with and I would rate this one slightly better.
Enjoyed as with others in this series but did get bogged down at different points with elaborate details. Glad I bought it.

Enjoyed this book my Michael Connelly. The court room scenes were well-written, dialogue believable. Story unfolded a bit slowly at times, but the ending made it all worth it. Would recommend this highly!
Well written, suspenseful and entertaining.
I really enjoyed it. I would give it a 4 star rating.
A lot of legal wrangling from Haller some work some don't but still a good story.
Very good, but too much court room for me.
A good one. Not one of his best, but a good read nonetheless.
I love, love, love this series! Quick, easy read - you won't want to put it down until you reach the end - and always lots of surprises along the way. Highly recommend this series. Can't wait for the next one!
GREAT BOOK! I love Michael Connelly, and this was another excellent story. Can't wait til the next one!
Not one of Michael Connelly's best, but still a good book.
Great book!
One of my favorite authors hits it out of the park again!

Connelly is a remarkable storyteller and I have never read a novel written by this author (and I've read a substantial number of them) that I didn't thouroughly enjoy. His Mickey Haller books are my favorite, speaking of which from my point of veiw this one is clearly his very best! I truly loved it.
Mickey Haller is back, still working out of his Lincoln Town Car. He is now defending foreclosure clients. When one is accused of murder, Mickey does what he does best, skating on the edge. This is Michael Connelly at his thought-provoking best. It is an excellent read.
Another of Michael Connelly courtroom delights. This one was even better than the last several, if that's possible. It kept me guessing throughout. Fantastic work.
Great read.
Great book! I don't read Grisham because they are bogged down with lots of descriptions, etc. BUT this one is so well written that page after page it reveals something new either about the client, the case, or Mickey's personal life--very hard to put down.
Great read, fast paced, good court room stuff.
Slow, slow, slow. Certainly not as exciting and compelling as "Lincoln Lawyer." If you like the intricate in's and out's of laboring over each clue in defense of your client (who by the way was not particularly likeable), then this is the book for you. I finished it (and am glad I did) but I had expected great things from this second Mickey Haller book and was disappointed.
Michael Connelly his it out of the park with his fourth "Lincoln Lawyer" book! This one, for me,was the best and most engaging (though I loved them all).
The courtroom scenes were excellent and the whole story kept me glued to the book. I really hope that this one (maybe all?) get made into movies.
To say much more would spoil the book, I think. Loved it!

WOW, What a Book. Connelly can put together a plot that is unique, suspenseful with an ending you don't see coming.

Mickey Haller's criminal defense practice has slowed, so he has been working with people whose homes are being foreclosed. When one of his new clients, Lisa Trammel, is accused of murdering Mitchell Boudorant, the banker who is trying to take away her home, Mickey takes her case. With evidence pointing at his client, Mickey and his team have an uphill battle to craft a believable defense.
This book takes us from the arrest, through the collection of evidence, the preliminary hearing, a courtroom battle between the prosecution and defense, and the testimony of each witness in the case. I thought it was well written, though I did get a little bored through the middle of the book. Overall, a very good legal thriller. My rating: 4 Stars.

Loved this book!
Great story line full of excitement and intrigue.
Connelly has done it again! Very Good Book
Loved this book and couldn't put it down! You know how some lawyer/trial novels get so bogged down in details that you get bored and end up skimming paragraphs? This is NOT one of those. Yes it involves a murder trial, but it is so skillfully written that you effortlessly learn intimate details about planning a defense. Some unexpected twists keep you on your toes.
