It was a nice story. My preference is mystery; however, this was a good book for pure escapeism. I doubt I will read any more of her books, but I would recommend the book for any one who is looking for something "feel good" and light.

Formula sex and mystery book. Guessed who-done-it before it was half over. There were also some bits and pieces that were just wrong. I won't be reading any more of Howard's books.

This was the third in a series, and very enjoyable. I love the way Baldacci weaves his stories with surprises. Never a slow moment or a disappointing one.

Another of Michael Connelly courtroom delights. This one was even better than the last several, if that's possible. It kept me guessing throughout. Fantastic work.

In a word, fantastic. Dan Brown has a way of taking obscure facts and turning them into a fascinating story. Each book gets better and better.

I found it hard to get into. The writing style is that of a poet, which Ms. Dillard is, so it was difficult to deal with the style. It was also depressing, which, I guess, many real life type experiences are. I would not recommend it for those who read for escapism, but would definitely recommend for those interested in the social commentary.

Sad story; sad lives. I found that author is overly-descriptive of scenes and characters that it detracted from the story itself. She jumped around too much, and it took awhile into a new chapter to determine where she was. I also saw no point in the "Thanksgiving" ending for this book. The relationship between Ronnie and Susanna, should have been incorporated in the body of the book, and could easily have been done in the chapters where Susanna was thinking about her sister or talking to her mother. I certainly would not consider this a mystery, since the reader pretty much knew who did it by midbook. It is a good albeit sad commentary on simple, "plain jane" lives. I would put it more in the sociology category.

No Man's Land (John Puller, Bk 4) (Audio CD) (Unabridged)
Review Date: 11/19/2021

This is the last in the John Puller series. As with all of the Baldacci books, it was a good read and an attention deter to the very end. Since it was a CD we listened to it on the road to and from Texas, and I must admit, I was so engrossed in the story I missed one of my exits.

This kind of reminded me of Katherine's Hepburn's "Me" book. It's a "what I'm thinking" collection of stuff. It did give me some insight into why she's been writing the way she does, which is darker and darker with every book. I'm not inclined to recommend it.

I found this book very helpful when I first got started race walking ten years ago. Even though it was written in 1996, the content is still valid today.
