There were so many tense and intense moments in this book and one major event that caused me to shed a few tears. But I think Rachel is finally understanding herself. I'm very much looking forward to seeing where things go forward from here.

If you like vampires, pixies, witches and demons, you'll love the fast-paced action of this book. Rachel Morgan kicks ass, and you'll want a pixie sidekick like Jenks instantly.

All of these books are amazing. I have the entire series so far, and read them over again all the time. A good mix between Laurell K Hamilton and Rachel Marie Moning.

For a Few Demons More
by Kim Harrison
The fifth installment of the urban fantasy-thriller series starring Rachel Morgan arrived from paperback swap the other day and I read through it so quickly that I was done in two days.
Bargaining with demons has left Rachel Morgan in constant danger of losing her soul. The book opens with her waking while sleep walking and possessed with a demon who is searching for something she believes Rachel has. We learn a lot about the world of demons in this book, like only the males cross the lines and when one very crazy female crosses to our side Rachels life gets crazy (er).
The demon that was ransacking her home with no fear of sanctified ground, cause she not only unsanctified the church but damned it. Its not until the human morgue starts to fill up with partially-turned lupine women who have been brutally murdered, that Rachel realizes that someone else knows the Focus still exists and that she may have been betrayed.
With an invitation to her old adversary Trents wedding and Al, who has a score to settle with her freely running about the city in possession of a human body, Rachel has more to worry about than the focus though.
One of the things that I like about Harrison is that the events in this story carry on plot lines from the previous novels and the development of the characters and the characters relationships in this series. This book, or at least my copy, also included a short story in the back as a thanks to her readers. I like that I didnt have to go buy some anthology with a bunch of other writers that I may or may not like to read this work.

I enjoyed reading this fifth installment in the series. I read quite a books in this genre & not all of the authors are able to keep it fresh. I like the way the characters evolve not only in their powers, but also in their relationships. A recommended read for fans of the series!

Kim Harrison does not disappoint with this, the 5th installment of her Rachel Morgan series. More demons, more action, more trouble with Trent, and this time, a few shed tears. Inlcudes bonus short story at the end as well.

Surprisingly good for the fifth book of a series.

I haven't liked Rachel much since the first book, and have kept reading this series for the magic and peripheral characters, but she was more likable in this one. She seemed a little more real and a lot less clueless.

The last fifty pages or so were very exciting and a real pleasure.

This was such a great addition to the series. Rachel digs deep in this story and I have to say that I really enjoyed it although there were events in this story that brought tears to my eyes.

I absolutely love this entire series. Rachel is getting into big demon trouble again. I liked this one more than the last, which makes me very excited about the next one.

I am really enjoying this series! So many of the female fantasy/sci fi series veer off into romance or the character becomes consumed by some weird sexual voodoo. I like that Harrison keeps her character real, with a boyfriend but not letting Rachel turn into some sex crazed maniac. the plot is very fast paced. Harrison's books keep getting better and better!

From Publishers Weekly
In bestseller Harrison's fifth demon-kicking extravaganza to feature Rachel Morgan, the first in hardcover (after 2006's A Fistful of Charms), the Cincinnati-based bounty hunter and spell caster still possesses "the focus," a 5,000-year-old demon-crafted Were artifact. With the help of her pixie partner Jenks and Detective Glenn, Rachel must deal with demons, the elf Trent Kalamack and master vampire Piscary, who along with angry Weres, struggle for possession of the artifact. Meanwhile, a serial killer is on the loose and Rachel's alpha werewolf pal, David Hue, becomes the prime suspect of the FIB (aka the human-run Federal Inderland Bureau). Action-packed and full of Rachel's persistent erotic ruminations, this titillating tale includes a shocking finale that will leave fans panting for the next installment in the Hollows series.

Book Description

Despite dating one vampire and living with another, Rachel Morgan has always managed to stay just ahead of trouble . . . until now.

A fiendish serial killer stalks the Hollows, claiming victims across society, and the resulting terror ignites a vicious Inderland gang war. And while the ancient artifact Rachel is hiding may be the key to stopping the murderer, revealing it could also create a battle to the death among the numerous supernatural races that live in and around Cincinnati.

For every action has its price, and when the vampire master Piscary is set free and the demonic Algaliarept dares to walk openly under the sun, even Rachel Morgan can't hide forever.

This book got pretty good toward the end, but most of the book was slow. I am very sad about what happened to a certain someone... They never explained how/who made her forget what happened.. I have a feeling it is going to be heart breaking when she remembers.. They also didn't mention Skimmer again, when she had a crucial part in how it all ended. And I really didn't like Trent in this one...

Kim Harrison's books on The Hollows just get better and better. I am so hooked on this series and could easily see it made into an HBO series like True Blood.

This book is one of the best in the series. You really need to read the earlier books to understand what is happening. Characters become deeper and have more personality. I bit long overall very good.

This is one of the most well-written and addictive series that I have read. Harrison does such a wonderful job at keeping the story interesting that putting the book down for very long is not an option as you can't help but get back to it ASAP to find out what happens next. This book was another great addition to the series with lots of action, laughs and drama. Excellent story!
