It's been many months since I read the third book in Patricia's series Brides of Amish Country, but she writes memorable characters, so everyone came back to me as I settled in to read The Farmer Next Door. I really enjoyed Faith: a spunky widow with a limp resulting from an accident, determined to start a new life on a dilapidated farm so she can gain custody of her nephew. I'm a crocheter, so Faith's herd of alpacas stole the scene many times, and just made the whole book for me. I liked Adrian, though many times he used his grief as a wall to keep people at arm's length. I really began to wonder if he would change at all as the book progressed, but the ending was satisfying. On to The Christmas Quilt!

This book tells the story of two lost souls. Both Adrian Lapp and Faith Martin had lost their spouses. God brings them together in this tender love story all about second chances . The look into Amish life is entertaining as well as the story line. I really enjoyed this book.
