Fair Weather
Author: Richard Peck
On that day, Rosie Beckett's family received a letter-thefirst letter they had ever received from their Aunt Euterpe in distant Chicago. It is 1893, the year of the World's Columbian Exposition-the wonder of the age. Tucked inside the pages of the letter are train tickets. Aunt Euterpe is inviting Rosie's family to the fair!

Not as interesting as "A long way from Chicago" or "A year down yonder", and it took a while for me to get interested, but once it got going it was a very engaging story with a touching ending.

Short old fashioned story. Nice read for a day at the beach.

Illustrated with photos from the 1893 Columbian Exposition/Chicago World's Fair. Three children and their ornry gramps travel to Chicago for the Fair and to visit their widowed aunt/daughter. All have life-changing experiences. A great companion to Devil in the White City.

Richard Peck is a wonderful author who delights Adults and children alike with his imaginative stories! Try A Year Down Yonder and A Long Way From Chicago! They are my favorites.
