No one weaves a captivating, nail-biting tale like Deaver. I missed an entire night's sleep because I couldn't put this down (and was too nervous to sleep if I had). This is a must read!

Fascinating pageturner! 'The Empty Chair' has likeable characters that you will feel you are getting inside the head of and getting to know. It has a wonderfully thought-out plot, and spine-tingling twists. This book is good for thinking about, too; it has some incredibly accurate investigative techniques employed in it, so much so that this book was required reading in my Criminal Investigation course at the university I go to.
GREAT read!! My only wish is that it didn't have to end!!

This is an amazing novel. This book is what got me hooked on Jeffery Deaver's writings. Every time you think you have it all figured out he adds just one more detail and sends you for a ride once again. There are so many twists and turns and by the time you get to the end all you want to do is pick up another and read more. You will fall in love with Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs.
If you like reading books that keep you on the edge of your seat and practically turn the pages for you. Then you need to read this book!

A Lincoln Rhymes novel. Linc faces his toughest criminal yet "the bug boy" . Catching this criminal is one thing but keeping him is another story.
All I can say is I have read all of Deavers books and this one kept me turning pages and wishing that the book would never end.

I am just in love with Deaver. This book is the third in the Rhyme series and it is not disappointing with wonderful twists and an abundance of characters. At times it is a little difficult to keep all the characters straight but is well worth it. The ending to this book is superb. Although the three books are quite good and could be stand alone books, I feel if you read from the beginning you can see the characters of Rhyme and Sachs grow and develop which make each new book even more exciting than the last. If Deaver can keep with his standards that he has established in the first three books he has me hooked forever.

The 3rd Lincoln Rhyme book. This one is set in North Carolina and is, therefore, a departure from the other New York City based crime stories. But this one has all the details and clever twists as the other Lincoln Rhyme stories.
This book is a definite read for Licoln Rhyme fans. I'll say no more as it may ruin the journey.
Lincoln Rhyme faces his ultimate opponent--the Insect Boy
Lincoln Rhyme, the renowned criminalist from The Bone collector and The Coffin Dancer, faces his ultimate opponent: a kidnapper and murderer dubbed the Insect Boy. But Rhyme is in for a surprise when he learns that catching a criminal is one thing...keeping him is another. Now Rhyme finds himself hunting ruthless killer in the heart of southern swampland-and going head-to-head with his protege Amelia Sachs, in a rivalry that tests the limits of both their expertise and their love.
A Lincoln Rhyme novel.
Classic Jeffery Deaver. Third in the series featuring Lincoln Rhyme/Amelia Sachs. You can always count on suspense from Deaver. Fascinating forensics.
The "Insect Boy"... is he a kidnapper, killer hunted by Lincoln Rhyme in the heart of a soutern swampland? Going head to head with his protege, Amelia Sachs in a rivalry that will test the limis of both, the suspense is masterful with plot twists.
Another Lincoln Rymes novel. Always good. A serial killer dubbed Insect Boy, a swamp and LOTS of bugs.
Great book for those that enjoy CSI type shows. Lots of twists.
Great book!
Page turner to the end.
This is an absolutely fascinating mystery. The twists and turns abound!
Do not get caught up in acceptance of the obvious because you will have the rug pulled out from under you with a sudden but logical revelation that turns things on it's ear.
I love Jeffery Deaver's mysteries and I swear this was my Favorite so far !

Wow - very good book that keeps you guessing! Does he have the operation or doesn't he? Does she go to jail or doesn't she? Hmm. Way to go, Mr. Deaver!
A bit different from other "Rhyme" books I had read. I really liked the change of venue. Quite a few twists that I did NOT see coming.
This book had more twists and turns than any book I have ever read. It was hard to put it down.
Non stop action with twists and turns. Read it very quickly and now looking for another Deaver.
A real page turner. all of Deaver's work keeps you on the edge. his characters are well drawn and his locations outstanding.
well written and totally unbelievable but enjoyed none the less!
I got bored around 2/3 of the way through and skimmed to the last 50 or so pages. The presumed murderer is a clever character, much more than expected. The book isn't riveting like *The Bone Collector* is, though the ending has quite a whiplash effect.
Great author, very intense stories. this 1 is worth reviewing about. I enjoy the series. Nice that Coffin Dancer was made into a book, it caught my eye and starred Denzel Washington. So now I have a person for the Lincoln Rhyme character.
Jeffrey Deaver has done remarkably well at not losing the originality and freshness of this series. This book is another good one in the Lincoln Rhyme universe. Good pace, good suspense, fun read!
For fans of Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs, this is a great addition to the collection. It is a very good mystery with an essence of romance between Rhyme and Sachs while trying to solve vicious crimes. It is a follow=up to the Bone Collector, also by Jeffrey Deaver.
Of all of Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series, if you have to pick only one to get a flavor of what he can do - pick this one.
You won't be able to put it down - and you won't be disappointed when the last page is turned.

Amazing series. Jeffery Deaver has kept the same twisting pace throughout all his books.
The more I read about Lincoln Rhyme, the more I like this guy, Deaver. Really good story.
Excellant book!
Classic Deaver. A good read.
I love the Lincoln Rhyme series!! You never know what to expect and when you think you know you more than likely don't!! I highly recommend the series starting with the first (this is the third).
An excellent Lincoln Rhyme thriller.

Excellent story. The ending was very surprising!
So many twists and turns you never know what to expect. I loved this book. I would read it again!
Another great Lincoln Rhyme mystery. Give that man a little dirt off the bottom of your shoe and he'll tell you not only what you had for breakfast, but what city your momma was born in!!
Lincoln Rhyme faces his ultimate opponent: a kidnapper and murderer dubbed the Insect Boy.
A LINCOLN RHYME ADVENTURE WITH MANY UNEXPECTED "TWISTS"
Creeoy, even for Linc! Gotta read this one
Very exciting book!
Very good read. Enjoyed it so much, I read it in a day.
I have to say that I ALWAYS enjoy the books written by Jeffery Deaver. A really good read.
Good Read
It's not easy being NYPD detective Lincoln Rhyme, the world's foremost criminalist. First of all, he's a quadriplegic. Secondly, he's forever being second-guessed and mother-henned by his ex-model-turned-cop protégé, Amelia Sachs, and his personal aide, Thom. And thirdly, it seems that he can't motor his wheelchair around a corner without bumping into one crazed psycho-killer after another.
This is definitely one of Deaver's best.
A Lincoln Rhyme novel where he helps a strange insect-loving boy accused of murder.
This is another excellent book in the Lincoln Rhyme series. This time he and his assistant, Amelia Sachs, are out of their element in North Carolina, near the Great Dismal Swamp. This is very unlike their native habitat of New York City and environs.
Oh man, this one really never lets up for a second. If you have read the Lincoln Rhyme series you will love it. If you haven't, it's a great one to start with!
One of Deaver's best!!!
Mystery/Fiction. Great Read!
Another Lincoln Rhyme mystery-this time he finds himself hunting a ruthless killer in a southern swamp dubbed the "Insect Boy".
Another thriller in the Lincoln Rhyme series.
Lincoln Rhyme, the renowned criminalist from The Bone Collector and The Coffin Dancer, faces his ultimate opponent: a kidnapper and murderer dubbed the Insect Boy. But Rhyme is in for a surprise when he learns that catching a criminal is one thing ...keeping him is another.
This book had me guessing right up to the very end! Excellent descriptions, wonderfully rounded characters, and action. Another great Lincoln Rhyme novel.
Usual great Deaver read . . .
"A quadriplegic since a beam crushed his spinal cord years ago, Lincoln Rhyme is desperate to improve his condition and goes to the University of North Carolina Medical Center for high-risk experimental surgery. But he and his partner Amelia Sachshave hardly settled in when the local authorities come calling. In a 24-hour period, the sleepy Southern outpost of Tanner's Corner has seen a local teen murdered and 2 young girls abducted. And Rhyme and Sachs are the best chance to find the girls alive"
Another thriller involving Lincoln Rhyme - this time facing his ultimate oponete; a kidnapper and murderer dubbed 'The Insect Boy'.
