I'm always on the lookout for new characters. This Peter Ash is
a pretty solid one. I read the book in two days and put the
next one of the series on my Wish List. Lots of action and
a good story to follow.

Well written descriptions of what PTSD must be like to those afflicted with it and how they live trying to cope with it. Liked the protaganist a lot, he's just trying to get through life in his own way and the plot was good also. Am looking forward to reading more in this series. If you like Jack Reacher will probably like this book too.

Nick Petrie's debut novel follows the compelling story of one former Marine's struggle to re-acclimate himself to civilian life while honoring his commitment to a fallen soldier. That alone is reason to keep reading, but Petrie amps up the stakes in surprising fashion, creating a story that is moving, thrilling and satisfying on every level.

Nick Petrie is one of my favorite new authors. The Drifter is his debut novel featuring war veteran Peter Ash in a series that will keep you wanting more, and waiting for the next in the series.
Ash deals with his "white static," a post-traumatic stress which he endures, and which forces him to roam nature, sleeping out of doors, and leading a nomadic existence that ultimately leads him into events over which he has limited control.
In spite of his aversion to crowds, he is pulled into helping others, and finds a passion with a new purpose.

The series is up to book 7, and read in order. It's a fantastic ride, and you'll be cheering Ash on.
