Inspired me to visit New Orleans, the story brought history to life so vididly and the fast paced action made it a great read. Couldn't put it down.

Great mystery! It kept me guessing, and I found the portrayal of the setting (New Orleans, 1830s) as interesting as the story.

This is one of my favorite series - Benjamin January is a free man of color in New Orleans in the early 1800's. Excellent period writing.
