Jane McGill is an intern at the County Hospital. Her life is hell! Between her drug addict patients, sleepless nights on call, and battling wits with the sadistic yet charming Sexy Surgeon, Jane can't imagine an afterlife much worse than her first month of medical internship at County Hospital. Jane's senior resident Dr. Alyssa Morgan becomes absolutely hell-bent on making her new interns pay tenfold for the deadly sin of incompetence, Jane starts to worry that she may not make it through the year with her soul or her sanity still intact. It seems that Freida McFadden can write books other than thrillers as this comedic novel was extremely funny. It made me laugh all the way through. The characters were great and so believable that I imagined that my best friend was telling me about her experiences from internship at a hospital. I definitely need to read the sequel to this book in order to find out what becomes of her relationship with the Sexy Surgeon, Ryan Reilly. If you like books that make you laugh out loud then you will love this book!

I listened to the audio. This is a short book, and nothing like her others. I RARELY laugh out loud in reading a book but I sure did numerous times with this one. Give it a go, especially if you are in the medical field and went through training with a witch and wackos.

I've enjoyed McFadden's psychological thrillers more than this book. It's still rather amusing, quick paced story of a medical students first days as an intern, and how incredibly horrible it is. Funny enough to make you laugh, real enough to make you never want to go to the hospital again.
