A short, weird read. A mixture of genres, a fair amount of horror (body and otherwise), the post-apocalypse, religion, mysticism, Vegas, Western, all rolled into one package. A bit Last of Us, a bit The Walking Dead, a bit The Road, a bit Annihilation, a bit allegorical journey to the promised land.

I like enough of those that it could have been my thing, but I also dislike violence and body horror enough that it turned out it wasn't quite my thing.

Overall, if any of that appeals to you, give it a shot. If any of it doesn't, don't. The book is short enough that it's not much of a commitment either way.
