Denene Millner is an American author and journalist.
She has written 16 books of fiction and non-fiction, including co-authoring the #1 New York Times bestseller, "Act Like a Lady, Think Like A Man," [1] with comedian Steve Harvey. The book stayed in the top ten on the New York Times hardcover advice list for a total of 43 weeks throughout 2009. Millner's other books include the novel "The Vow," [2] written with Angela Burt-Murray and Mitzi Miller, and the three-book teen series "Hotlanta," [3] written with Mitzi Miller. She has written three novels and three books of non-fiction with her husband Nick Chiles, including "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" [4] and "What Brothers Think, What Sistahs Know," [5] both Essence bestsellers. In 2007, Millner wrote the novelization of the screenplay for "Dreamgirls." [6]
As a journalist, Millner was a reporter for the Associated Press and a political and entertainment reporter for the New York Daily News. She was an editor at Honey magazine and Parenting [7] magazine, where she is still a columnist.
