Another great addition to the Carpathian series! We are not only introduced to Lara and Nicolas who are the lifemates featured in this book, but we learn more about why Carpathian women miscarry their babies and why so many males are born. We also find out more about Xavier & Razvan as well as some more of the traditions of the Carpathian people. This series keeps getting better and better especially with this race survival piece and how the Carpathians are working together against Xavier. I highly recommend this book (and series)!

Finally...I have read every book in Christine Feehans Dark Series and I was beginning to feel like her books were so predictable and the storyline wasnt really going anywhere. Well having finished Dark Curse I am happy to say FINALLY..Finally some answers that have been too long coming have come to light. The characters were loveable as always and a perfect match for each other. In Dark Curse Feehan didnt spend as much time on the (getting to know each other developement like she usually does and finally got on with the story..Im happy to have read it and am looking forward to more in this wonderful series. A highly recommended read for anyone into the Dark Series by Feehan.

WOW!
Out of all of the Carpathian books so far that I have read (and I have read nearly all) this is by far and away the BEST OF THEM ALL! It is THE book to read if you have already read "Dark Celebration". It goes beyond the birth of the baby, into the other two pregnancies. It makes you laugh, cry, and chew off everyone of your nails wondering what is going to happen next!
It also shows that there could possibly be a light at the end of their tunnel, and a way to beat the bad guys after all. :)

One of Feehan's better books. I thought this heroine was a little less "whiny" than some of the others, and she had a good reason to be a "reluctant lifemate."

A "different" Carpathian story but, I loved it just as much as the others.

Always a great story from Feehan.

I believed Lara was a wonderful lifemate for Nicolas because she was stubborn, however I saw it more as determination to not let anyone control her life, which Nicolas needed since he believed he can control his lifemate. I remember Nicolas leturing his brother Raphel on how to deal with Coby, Raphel's lifemate and Lara's half-sister what he would do if Coby was his lifemate in Dark Secret. Nicolas met his match with Lara, his lifemate and I wouldn't be surprise since she was a descent of Dragonseeker's clan. He did try to control Lara with no luck. It was nice to see Nicolas's soft side and understanding as he slowly helped Lara overcome her hellhole past. Thumb up for this De La Cruz brother.

Christine Feehan is the paranormal Queen! I rush to get all her books. Actually paid $25 for this one, cuz I just couldn't wait! It was worth the money. More about Razvan, we are still not sure if he is good or evil, but we can at least sympathize with him now. Also more on the Dragonseekers and fiery Natalia. I am sorry to say I that I swapped all the previous books in this series after reading them, because now that I have read ALL of her books... I want to read them again and again.

this book is not for the weak of heart! It explores the depth of emotions in pain, sadness, abuse, and happiness! It haunted me with the details of abuse and thrilled me with her newfound happiness!

Of the three series that Feehan is writing now, I find that this one is the one that seems to be getting stale. This book is better than the previous few in that there is progress on the continuing story of the lack of Carpathian women and children. There is also some great back story about the Dragonseekers. The hero is a fine Carpathian man, much like the rest of them. The heroine is sometimes hard to like and understand. At the end of the book there is an appendix with Carpathian chants and a dictionary, only useful for a Carpathian fanatic.

Sometimes series books get repetitive but this time Christine Feehan out did herself. I could hardly put this book down.
