You really have to stretch your imagination to believe the end of this love story of Hannah's, but what the heck. A woman is in a plane crash and journeys to a fishing lodge where she meets a little boy and his dad who win her heart......or is it all in her head? She meets a cast of characters that resourface when she "comes to" from her coma. I know, it's confusing. But somehow, it makes sense in the end. This is far from predictable....kinda hokey, but that's love!

Joy Candellaro's life fell apart after finding her sister in bed with her husband. Since her subsequent divorce, she has decided that she should do some traveling that she has always dreamed about. But when her plane crashes on the way to her destination, Joy walks away from the crash and decides to start her life over. Joy finds a small fishing resort where she rents a room. The resort is owned by Daniel O'Shea and his young son, Bobby. Bobby's mother died recently. The boy is lonely and quickly bonds with Joy.

This is a quick Christmas read. I had a hard time with Joy's sister and ex-husband. I would have walked away from them too if I was in that situation. This story was entertaining and liked the twist at the end. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

What a wonderful story! I kept thinking something strange was going to happen all through the story. It turned into almost a fairy tale! Very different than all the Kristin Hannah books lately! Sometimes you just need to take stock of your life and regroup, and that's how Joy was feeling when she set off for a new adventure. Things didn't quite go as planned..or did they/ It was a lovely, magical book!

I liked Comfort and Joy but not near as much as the other books by Kristin Hannah I've read. I read my first book written by her over a year ago & loved it; made me want to read more. I would have to say that if this would have been the first book I read by this author, I don't know that I would have read any others.

OK, I indulge in a romance novel once in a while. They are usually way too predictable. This one surprised me in a good way.

The characters are believable and likeable. The situation is fraught with emotion. We, the readers, are allowed to evaluate the action and make up our own minds.

This was a great short read! I couldn't wait to see what happened next. I found myself laughing and crying with the story and it was so easy to imagine it all. This is the first Kristin Hannah book I have read and I will be looking for more.

I wish I could say that I loved it, but I didn't even finish reading it. I tried and tried, but it was too cliche.

It was a nice story. My preference is mystery; however, this was a good book for pure escapeism. I doubt I will read any more of her books, but I would recommend the book for any one who is looking for something "feel good" and light.

This was an interesting Christmas read. Joy Candellaro is trying to get over her husband falling in love with her sister so she takes an unexpected flight to get away but the plane crashes. She does walk away but there is another explosion. She finds her way to a cabin and meets a father and son, Daniel and Bobby, and she hopes to be able start over again. You will have to read this book for yourself because there is an unexpected twist and a very surprising ending. I found this book to be very thought provoking and magical at the same time. I look forward to reading more of Hannah's books as I do enjoy her writing.
