This book was ok. I have liked the previous ones of this author better. At times I had difficulty getting through it.
This is now my favorite book I've read this year and I read about 2 a week. Normally I'm not a fan of historic fiction but this was exceptional.
An enjoyable historical fiction. My issue was that I knew little about the historical piece which was the subject of the book and really struggled in reading it in deciding what might be good history and what might be made up for the story. As I knew little this was a bit frustrating. A TIP: and I wish I knew this going in it, at the end the author spends PAGES going into what is historical fact chapter by chapter, and what was not.
Another great book by Steve Berry. I love his new character, Tom Sagan. The book was a little confusing at first. You really have to pay attention to the details, but what a ride. Lots of twists, turns and great characters. I can't wait to read the next book about Tom. I love that Steve Berry writes about historical figures and places a work of fiction around them. 5 star rating.
Oh no Mr. Berry. I have loved the earlier books especially The Amber Room and The Romanoff Prophecy; however, this book was boring. They told the story of Columbus' name changes and why and where he was from and what he did with the treasure about five times. Really, I got the storyline the first time it was told. The book could have been cut by about two-thirds.
I was disappointed in the last two books, I am very much afraid that Mr. Berry has gone the way of so many of our successful writers - he has an outline and he fulfills it completely making his most recent books formulatic.
Not even sure I will purchase the new one, that is how disappointed I have been in the last three.
