I was excited to read this book by our former chief. I admit I only finished 1/2 of it. Too much corruption and violence - and typical of books by men (sorry, that's my experience) too much titillation - it's not necessary to getting the point across about the rapist or the sex addicts.

Part of my disappointment is also that I thought it would take place in San Jose as that is where I knew him as a chief, but it takes place in San Francisco. Never make assumptions.
