I wasn't crazy about the ending of this book, I've read several of her books and usually like them, this was good except felt unfinished at the end.

I normally love the cat who books and I loved this one right up until the end. The ending did not bring much closure to the book and I felt unsatisfied with the finish.

Was a big fan of "The Cat Who" books. This one disappointed me. Very slow and boring-kept waiting for something to happen. The older "Cat Who" books were MUCH better.

In The Cat Who Went Bananas, wealthy journalist Jim Qwilleran searches for palatable ways to incorporate the bananas his doctor recommends into his diet, while his clever cats, Koko and Yum Yum, prove more than willing to make the evidence of those bananas (and other things) appear at opportune moments. Meanwhile, excitement is running high as Qwill and the folks of Pickax City get ready for opening night of the Theatre Club's latest performance (with an exciting new resident in the leading role), get set to unveil the statue in the town's new park, explore the pros and cons of the new local fad of rose watching, and prepare for the grand opening of the town's new bookstore, The Pirate's Chest. As always, Koko is quick to voice an opinion when an unexpected death and a mysterious theft slip into the story. Then it's up to Qwill to interpret his feline companion's literary clues in time to bring things to a dramatic conclusionwithout slipping up.

One of the later books in the series. Not as good as the early ones but still a good distracting read.

What can I say? Typical cat book, does leave a few unaswered questions this time....maybe she is saving those for the next book?? I love Qwill.

from amazon... This 27th entry in the CAT WHO....series finds Qwill and the rest of Moose County waiting for the opening night of local theater group's production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Since this is Moose County the production soon loses a cast member under questionable circumstances. Qwill and Koko begin inquiries into this and other matters although Qwill at least is distracted by other more personal matters. His longtime girlfriend Polly is finally opening her bookstore and has little time for Qwill any longer. Soon though a valuable book disappears from the store, a new copyboy at the local paper may not be quite what, or who he seems and....well the usual Moose County happenings. Qwill and Koko manage to sort out most of the mysteries and life in Moose County continues.

After reading "TCW Talked Turkey", this one is actually a slight improvement, in areas, at least. However, there are still continuity errors (both within the book's storylines & in relation to previous books) and odd tacked-on bits in the chapters. However, those are pretty minor issues compared to what's REALLY wrong with this book... Of the several mysteries in the story, Qwill does NO sleuthing, ignores Koko (who wasn't really helping much anyway) and the book ends abruptly with no explanations about deaths and disappearances. The things I loved about the TCW series are mere ghosts now... Koko & Yum Yum are all but ignored, the numerous characters are all written the same now (I challenge anyone to discern one from another!), and the cool sleuthing is replaced by yet more examples of Qwill throwing money and influence around like a mob boss. A sad decline to a much loved series.

Qwill and the wonderful cats, Koko and Yum Yum, solve a murder. There are amateur theatricals, mysterious strangers and the usual cast of Moose County characters. For once, not all the threads are knotted together at the end.

I love her books. This book ended abruptly, I think it could have been continued for a longer read, which would have been great.

I enjoy The Cat Who series. They are just fun books to read about a town full of interesting, quirky people.

I still love the characters in these books, and the author does a good job of describing people and places and things going on, etc, but I'm disappointed with these later books. They really do a poor job with the mystery part. In this book, a mystery is starting to develop you start wondering how its going to end and then...the main suspect dies in an accident and we're left with Qwill saying to himself that the mystery will always remain unsolved.

The Cat Who books are just good fun while on a 3 hour flight. I find myself smiling no matter which one I read.

James Qwilleran and his famous felines, Koko and Yum Yum, are back for another mystery-solving crime A new bookstore, The Pirate's Chest, about to open, but the Theatre Club is set to perform Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest. A member of the cast is killed in a car accident. Koko seems to suspect otherwise,
, Qwill and his cats have their work cut out for them.
Fast paced, fun ready. Mystery lovers will enjoy this, along with cat lovers as well.

It took me a little bit to get into this book, once I was past the first chapter I zoomed right through and really enjoyed it. It is a light read with humorous small town characters.

Well after 30 books in the Cat Who series you kind of wonder if KoKo and Yum Yum should continue sluething or just retire. This book is middle of the road not good but not bad. Definitely for fans only. At this point I don't read them for the mystery but only to visit my friends in Pickax...400 miles north of everywhere.

All the fun loving characters are back again, though this story is a little slower than the norm. The social aspect seems to take priority over the mystery itself, which is 50% of the fun for me.

QWILLERAN HAS SAID HE WOULD WRITE YET ANOTHER BOOK. THIS TIME ABOUT A BIG OLD HOUSE BY TOTALLY OF WOOD. HIS DOCTOR TOLD HIM TO EAT MORE BANANAS, WHICH KOKO LEAVES AROUND THE HOUSE.

Normally I love the âcat whoâ books. But this one ended terribly. It was like Lillian Braun wrote 200 pages and then had to end the book really quick. I have so many questions. I probably will read more of her books but I really wish I had not wasted my time on this one.
