This is a well written series featuring Dixie Hemingway who is a pet sitter. Set on a small, barrier island in Florida, the community sees a lot of violent death. The author makes this seem reasonable and Dixie's involvement also flows naturally for the most part.
At first I didn't particularly care for Dixie, however she is growing and changing enough to keep the series interesting for me. I have always liked the care and responsibility she shows for animals.

Okay story of an ex-cop turned pet sitter who gets tangled up with a kidnapped baby and assorted bad guys in the Florida keys. Part of a series, but I won't follow up. HUGE logic holes in the plot.

Cat Sitter Among the Pigeons
It is just another day on Siesta Key taking care of her pet charges. Until she is mistaken for someone else and is dragged into the mystery.
Not one of her best books. Missing was lots of her animal stories. This book was more about the people in the story. The book focused a lot on Dixie and her inner conflicts. I was able to skim over parts of the books were she starts to go off on an inner dialogue and not feel like I missed any of the story.
I wish Cora shared her Chocolate Bread Recipe. Every book it gets better and better.
I enjoy Clements stories and was sad to hear of her passing in July of 2011. Cat Sitters Pajamas was the last book she edited before her passing. There is an 8th book that is being written by her son John Clement. He worked with his mom before her passing and wrote an outline of the book.

While this is the 6th book in the Raining Cat Sitters & Dogs series, it is the first book I've read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it stood well alone without having read previous installments. Quick, light and enjoyable read.
