Book four in the series and my favorite so far.
A buried human body discovered on Mars triggers a basic disease survival reaction in a co-habiting alien species called the Disty. In their culture anyone that has had contact with the body, or with anyone who has had contact with anyone who has had conact with the body, or with anyone who has had contact with anyone who has had contact with anyone who has had contact with the body ... is considered to be a potentially disease carrying person that has to be decontaminated -- even it the decontamination process itself kills them.
The description of revenge killings practiced by the Disty strongly reminds me of the sacrifices described by Card in _Speaker For the Dead_.

Fourth book in the Retrieval Artist series. Miles & Noelle are on the case when bodies are dug up on Mars, causing widespread panic among the Disty. The series remains strong.
Interesting premsis. Good mystery. Fast read.
Good but not great.
