This book is absolutely hilarious. I laughed out loud at some parts, read others to my husband and found myself smiling and laughing in my car while reading it in the parking lot of my daughter's school. I cannot say enough about this one, Tina Fey is an all star. She is not only celebrity but regular human being too. As a woman if you have not dealt with some of the issues in this book you have not lived! Great 5 stars all the way!

A fun memoir by Tina Fey about how she got her start in improv and comedy, her family, her work at SNL and 30 Rock, and balancing work and family obligations. She includes a segment about playing Sarah Palin. Significant parts of this were laugh-out-loud funny, so consider yourself warned.

Tina Fey is my kind of woman, she embodies the right combination of sarcastic wit and flawed charm. It's an insanely fast read and it literally made me laugh out loud in spots

Reading this book at the conclusion of the "30 Rock" series was bittersweet. Fey is funny, but she also makes some serious comments (in a funny way) on the ways women still face challenges in show business and in politics.

Tina Fey is funny; let's just get that out of the way. This woman cracks me up. We may not agree on politics, but I respect her and admire her and I think she has a keen sense of the human intricacies that thread women together. This book is unabashedly feminist but not a Steinem-type feminism; her germane observations are moderate, respectful, and insightful. She doesn't use this book to bash anyone or push her own beliefs. She simply narrates parts of her life and describes how she got to where she is, what she's grateful for, and how lucky she feels to be in the life she's in.

I enjoyed this book through and through and thought Fey's rules of improv were some of the best pieces of life advice I've ever read. They show a true appreciation of, and respect for, others. She cares about her staff and those around her - not just at home but at large.

How is it that Tina Fey can get so deeply into my head and know what I'm thinking? She's the kind of woman you want to be friends with and one with whom you feel comfortable talking about anything. *sigh* I wish I was her.

It was actually a pretty good book. There were definitely some laugh out loud parts, but I didn't think it was all out hilarious. It was her witty, dry humor that made the book interesting.

You will love Tina Fey even more, if that was even possible!

Tina Fey is hysterial, whether on TV or in a book. She is a perfect female role model. This was a perfectly fun book- a true translation of a sitcom to page. Great!

I am a big fan of Tina Fey. I have always admired her talent and humor and truly looked forward to the opportunity to read "Bossypants". Unfortunately I was disappointed with this book. I pushed myself to read nearly 200 pages and just could not bring myself to finish it. There are certain parts of the book which I might consider to be entertaining but I just expected more. My review of this book does not change my opinion of her talent or my admiration for her as an actress.

Funniest book I have read in a long time. I snorted out loud a couple times and maybe almost peed myself once. Totally worth it.

I love Tina Fey (and Amy Poehler, who should also write a memoir), and loved most of this book. She did spend large amounts of time on rather weird topics -- like climbing a mountain with frat boys -- but overall, I loved her off-beat, self-deprecating sense of humor and overt feminism.

I picked this book up for two reasons: Tina Fey is generally pretty hilarious; and Bossypants is just a great title. Im pretty sure my siblings have been calling me that behind my back for years.

Typically, Im a little reluctant to read books by comedians because I dont love a whole book full of jokes. Im happy to say that this book is funny, but its funny things about Tina Feys journey from growing up in Philly to being the creator/head writer of 30 Rock. Maybe this is because her background is not in standup, so she doesnt feel the need to go over her shows with us. Regardless of the reason, I really enjoyed the format and the little journey I got to take through her life...

HILARIOUSLY funny Tiny Fey reads her own work...audio clips of live Sarah Palin sketches from SNL are included...stories of early career, motherhood, married life and more. Loved it!

I laughed out loud often. A glimpse into Tina Fey's background. Behind the scenes, funny examples about some of the work she's done that we know well. Worth reading!

The audio read by Tina Fey is very entertaining. Her opinions are interesting, and while I don't always agree, she has definitely made me re-think some of my own opinions.

At first, I was put off by the way the book started. It didn't seem cohesive to me, but once I got further into it, pieces started falling together and it became quite interesting.

This was a fun and charming read. It more than deserves all of the 4+ stars that I give it. Loved all the wisdom and advise from her love lives. The book cover photo is of course totally weird with the two big and thick hairy men's arms instead of hers.

It was better than I was expecting, and with a fair bit of humor to it, but it is still, on the whole, rather shallow. There are some good feminism aspects, as she details working as a woman in show business at a time it was virtually all men at the highest levels. It's a good choice for those into pop culture, feminism, or modern celebrity memoirs, but not so great if you're looking for a deeper read. Still, I liked it well enough to keep reading.

Sometimes I laughed, sometimes I thought about putting this book down and never coming back to it. Each chapter is a different anecdote about a time in Tina Fey's life that has led her to where she is today. I don't read too many biography's, so maybe that is where the issue lies with me. It was an OK read for someone who really hasn't seen too much of Tina Fey's work (I've only seen a handful of 30 Rock and SNL episodes of hers) But maybe someone who is a big fan would like the peek into her past a little bit more?

Just OK. Did not find it as funny as I expected.

Great read, but a lot of the pop-culture references were over my head since I was born more than a decade after Tina Fey. If you're not old enough to know late 70s and early 80s TV and movie references, you might not get a lot of her jokes either.

There are parts of the book that are laugh out loud enjoyable. Yet it is combined with some serious commentary about breaking through in a man's occupation. I also gained insight into the grueling schedule and commitment to be successful as a comedian. Good read.

I quit about halfway through this book. It was an interesting nor was it funny in my humble opinion of course. Tina Fey is much better than this.

This is a fun read where the author shares much about her life as a writer, comedian and mother. There are many places where I laughed out loud as I read the book. Read a number of sections to DH so he could laugh with me and comment as he watches TB much more than I do. The author had a tough job on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock. Yes, I do admire a woman who takes her place in a normally male dominated world. It takes a strong woman to do so. Good, good read!

Liked this a lot, but I'm a fan of SNL and this book goes into quite a bit of detail of what it was like to work there. (Also touched on how she got her scar - always wondered about that.) It's one woman's journey from an awkward young girl who finds her niche in life - while at times still feeling conflicted about herself.

OMG, I love Tina Fey! I got the audio (courtesy of my public library), so I had something to listen to on my way in to work. I took the long way home so I could finish it!
I enjoyed hearing about her growing up, writing for SNL and being on SNL, 30 Rock, etc. There wasn't anything that I didn't like. I've got the paperback too, a keeper!
I do recommend the audio; TF narrates it and there is a certain sketch she did in 2008 that I adored.

First, I know little about Tina Fey, other than she is a comic on television. I got this from the library, hoping to learn more about this very talented lady. On this CD book, Tina Fey reads her own work.

After listening to the book, I'm underwhelmed. She just wasn't that funny. She spent precious little time talking about aspects of SNL (Saturday Night Live). She did cover such unfunny subjects as menstruation and being a working mother. Maybe I'm just too old.

At the end, I felt that I'd learned all I ever wanted to know about this comic -- and then some. I decided to rate this average because humor is a personal thing, and maybe I'm not tuned to her wavelength.

It was certainly funny, and I love Tina Fey. I thought the F-bomb was unnecessary and disappointing. I loved the chapter on her father! And her childhood memories. Except for that one small criticism, and it was small, it's a very good read.

I listened to this on audio narrated by the author. What a disappointment. I like Tina Fey but am by no means a rabid fan. I listened to what seemed like a bunch of sketches about her life, career, family and motherhood pieced together to form a book. I laughed out loud maybe once or twice. I wouldn't recommend.

Actress, and writer, Tina Fey writes her memoir with a little whining and humor.

I loved Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live and have been a fan of her movies, so I was eager to listen to this audiobook. Listening to Fey talk about her childhood and knowing where she is at now in her life, seems to me that her life has gone in the direction she was meant to be in.

As funny as Tina Fey is as a actress, I found this book to be funny but not laugh out loud funny. Although I was listening to the audio and my hubby was listening as well. He did laugh out loud quite a few times. So maybe something is wrong with me and/or I wasn't fully listening. I was looking for the laugh out loud but for me it just was not there.

Although I could not relate to many things that Fey has been through, I still enjoy her as an artist in whatever field she may proceed in. If you like Tina Fey and enjoyed 30 Rock (I did not) you will probably enjoy this more.

I find this audio book perfect for listening while on a treadmill/exercise bike, etc. Ms. Fey kept me entertained and the time seemed to pass very quickly as I got lost in her stories and marveled at her comedic intellect. I'm starting my second "cycle" through the CDs just to catch the jokes that I missed the first time around (because I was still laughing from the previous joke).

If there is a place that plays Tina Fey monologues 24/7, "I want to go to there".

I dont usually read biographies and while I enjoy Tina Feys work, I wouldnt say I was a huge fan. But I am so glad a came across this book! It was hilarious! And as a woman around her age, so many parts rang true to me. I will share this book with my husband, daughter, book club and anyone who ask. It was just a great read. Now I am off to watch some 30 Rock on demand.

Not impressed. Expected so much more from Tina Fey! :(

This book was a little disappointing to me. I was expecting laugh out loud, super witty/clever writing. I wasn't expecting a narrative of Tina Fey's adult life. It was funny, but Tina Fey's life doesn't seem to have been. She probably did a great job of making her pretty normal yet hugely successful life into a readable book, but I'd rather strike up a conversation with a random person and hear a funny story from their life.

Not worth the money I paid. I bought it new then passed it on swap someone got lucky and didn't waste their money. Save your point may be worth 10 cents from a yard sale.
