Started off a little slow but really picked up and I ended up loving this one. Essie is the sixth child and the daughter of a televised evangelist. Their family life has been a reality show her entire life: Six on Hicks. But now at 17 she is pregnant. Who is the father? What does she do? What are all the family secrets? Will a staged televised wedding help her escape from her controlling family and abuse? But this book is more than scintillating details of sex and abuse in the preacher's family. This is about being brave, making tough decisions, finding friends and people you can trust. This is true not just for Essie, but also for Roarke, and Libby, and Lissa who all have their own secrets and past problems they must face and resolve. Loved that there was a solid good ending after all the trouble these characters have all faced in their lives.
