This is the second book I've read from Maxted and I enjoyed it so much more than the first I tried (Getting Over It). Her writing style takes some getting used to but it is entertaining and quite witty. The characters are great and the story is, at times, painful but real. Very Good.

This is a witty book with a slightly "crazy" investigator. A fun read.

This is a funny and realistic look at marriage and family relationships. Although the main character is in her early 30s and struggling to find happiness after a divorce, the author also examines the marriage of the main character's parents and the family dynamics. I loved this book - it's full of the lies we've all told ourselves about our relationships!

This book is fun witted, and a great read! There are so many different personalities in this book that you seem to be able to sympathize with everyone.

Being committed is about a "family." The main character is a woman who struggles with committment and the idea of marriage based on her families history. You watch her go through the emotions of discovering her true self. She shows tremndous growth as she unveils the secrets with in her and her family.

Like all of the books by Maxted I have read, this book takes a while to get in to. Trust me when I say- stay with it! Like her other books, Being Committed is funny, thoughtful, clever and intellegent.

Good chick lit read... Great story showing dysfunctional families at their best.

Not quite as good as her other books but still an enjoyable read. The plot "twist" wasn't as strong as it is in her other books, that and a romantic relationship the main character isn't quite believeable.
