It was an entertaining mystery, although a bit far fetched in places. It's an easy read and keeps you interested. I finished it in about a day and a half on vacation.

Yet another super-fast-paced thriller by James Patterson!
A young man parking cars at a fancy party is found dead on the beach. The police rule it a suicide, but his family and friends know it was murder. However, the rich and powerful do everything they can to cover up the evidence and the motive. Can his brother bring them to justice?
Patterson knows how to write a interesting story. This legal thriller makes John Grisham look pale in comparison. A definite must-read for those who enjoy a good... no, make that GREAT... legal/murder thriller!!!

This is (yet another) fantastic book by James Patterson. I used to live on Long Island, and he captures the differences between "the locals" and the "summer people" perfectly. A great murder mystery with lots of twists.

Good story

When police in his hometown dismiss Jack Mullen's brother's drowning death as either an accident or suicide Jack knows something is wrong. His brother was an expert swimmer who knew the local waters well, and the police seem to be going out of their way not to investigate. Jack's own investigation uncovers a life he never knew his bother had... one that some very prominent locals don't want exposed.
A wonderful combination of mystery and legal thriller, the "courtroom" showdown that ends this book is one of the most gripping, and clever, I've read in a while.

Patterson could have written this book without the help. I like Patterson's style and move-along plots. This plot however, with the autopsy on Peter's body getting passed off as a drowning-suicide, was a disappointment. The rich buy the courts, but not with the kinds of evidence the coroner presented. The ending really frosts the cake when they have their "Kangaroo Court" in the abandoned Beach house over a two-day span. Since it wasn't terrible, I gave it three stars.

A great summer read!

I give this a three...not up to Patterson's best.

THE BEACH HOUSE reveals the secret lives of celebrities in a breathtaking drama of revenge-with a finale so shocking it could only have come from the mind of James Patterson.
Helpful Score: 1
I loved this book - written in a different style than some of Patterson's other books. I thought it was terrific!
Helpful Score: 1
Loved this book. This was the first "non-romance" of James Patterson that I've read. It was suspenseful, short, easy to read chapters and I couldn't put it down!
2 brothers, 1 a student of the law, the other a servant of the rich. ones body washed up on a beach, supposedly a suicide, but was it? his brother sets out to find what really happened to his brother....great book
Relaxing read.
This was really, really excellent! Couldn't put it down.
Excellent book! Its about a young man in law school who is notified that his brother has drowned in the ocean off East Hampton. Since his brother grown up around water, he knows it isn't an accident... and the story unfolds as he tried to find out exactly what happened... it really has a surprise ending!!!
A good mystery.
Really good book. Law student Jack, investigates what happened to his gigilo brother when he is killed.
An easy,fun page turner.
Great book. Exciting and an easy read. I highly recommend it.
Read this one in an afternoon. Enthralling and interesting. Perfect for a long flight, or beach read. Very easy to read.
This the Patterson that people will dicussion for yrars to come.
Super great read. Wonderful plot, hard to put down.
Best Patterson story in a long time. Holds interest all the way!
Great read, keeps your attention so you can barely put it down at the end.
The beach book of the summer! Cheer on Jack Mullen as he tries to beat the billionaires!
Excellent story. Great ending!
"Jack Mullen is a driven student of the law..." His brother parks the cars for the rich. One day he turns up dead. Jack knows it was no accident but someone's money has bought the cops, the judges and the system.
The billionaires of this world have their own set of rules. The Hampton elite think so too, to the point of getting away with Murder!
Excellent book! James Patterson at his best yet again. Kept me reading until the very end.
Great read with a good ending.
I loved this book! I just finished reading it for the second time and it was just as good the second time around if not better. James Patterson is truly amazing when it comes to keeping you guessing. This book has it all, intrigue, scandal, betrayal. Jack Mullen, a young aspiring lawyer, returns home to find his brother Peter dead. As he uncovers the truth about his brother's death he discovers much more about the people in his town. Once you start reading this book you wont be able to put it down. This book takes you into the high society lifestyle, and exposes all their secrets. This book is an easy read, and when you read the last pages, the ending will blow you away. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. If you enjoy mysteries, you will love this book.
Great book, great twist and ending. Sad that the brother had to die though.
Great read.
Great Book. Not in any of his series.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
A great fast-paced read!
Another James Patterson twister!!
It has been some time since I read this book but I remember enjoying it .I know I liked it more than Sam`s letters to Jennifer which I just finished.
Great summertime read...or anytime for that matter
Good book; not as gory as some of Patterson's; good mystery.
Jack Mullen is a driven student of the law. His brother Peter is a servant of the rich, parking the cars of the Hamptons' elite - and perhaps satisfying their more intimate needs as well. Then Peter's body is found on the beach. Jack knows the drowning was no accident, but someone's unlimited power and money have bought the cops, the judges, the system. Now Jack is learning a lesson in justice he never got in law school, and his astonishing plan to beat the billionaires will have you reeling and cheering to the very last page.
Great Fun!
Interesting characters and a fast moving plot. But, the story is very unrealistic and a little disappointing. Having said that, if you love reading Patterson thrillers, you will love this one as well!
Another great book by James Patterson, it was very hard to put down, I truly loved all of the characters, I know all who read it will
enjoy it as much as I did...

This book will keep you enertained from start to finish. If you're a fan of James Patterson, then this is a must read book.
murder and mystery
Fast paced read. Reminds me of Samson against Goliath story about a young lawyer trying to fight big corporation.
James patterson at his best.
Excellent quick read with a great twist towards the end.
I enjoyed this book but it wasn't as good as some of his others. It did move along quickly, tho. I would rate this a 3/5.
I liked the way the authors showed that the rich and famous don't always get away with their bad behavior. The chapters are short as usual with Patterson and it makes for good reading. The main character, Jack is one smart cookie!
Jeez! I just felt so sorry for Jack. This was really a good book, one of those you just couldn't figure out what was going on until the characters figured it out. Keeps you on your toes to see if someone else dies or not! Another good one from JP.
And typical of JP. Great mindless read.
A story about how good might take a long time to get here, but if you want it bad enough it will be so.
wonderfull book, anything by james patterson usually is. The rich have met the soul of us normal working class.
Not a book of make believe. It is reality in all its gory details. Love it.

Fast read that keeps your attention to the very end - I am not much of a mystery reader but loved this.
not my favorite by patterson
This book was perfect summer reading. It had a nice pace and it kept my attention. It had just the right amount of character developement, mystery, and action.
Patterson well is Patterson, Greatest mystery writer. This one takes place in the Hampton's and is about a law student who parks cars.
Very fun book. I love when Patterson incorporates court cases into his books. He does them so well. 4.5/5 stars!
When I first read James Patterson years ago I liked his writing style and the succinct way he gets to the point, the plot twists and short cliff-hanging chapters that keep up your interest. I would really like Patterson books a LOT... if it weren't for the shocking violence and/or graphic sex! I am certainly no prude, but this book, though entertaining in it's own way, left me sheeding tears of empathy for one character, while at the same time shocked by the content. If you can read this type of material without getting emotionally involved, ( if it's your cuppa tea) then it is recommended. I certainly think when I began reading this book that it would go in the direction it did. i know that's vague, but I don't want to ruin it for those who haven't read it yet.
Picked this up at a yard sale... seasoned author but very "adult" material. Yikes! Should have read the back cover more carefully.
Good mystery!!
This is a quick, interesting read. The story develops well and is engrossing. I got this on CD for commutes, and the reader and the story made the commutes go very quickly. I recommend. :)
great book so easy to listen to
Great read, like all of Patterson's work.
The Beach House is another of James Patterson's bestsellers. This was a great book, a suspense, murder story that takes place amongst the very wealthy in the Hamptons...full of suspense,
This was an excellent book with a few unexpected plot twists. It will keep you guessing right up until the end. I couldn't put it down.
This book was great! I read it in one day. I have a 2 year old that I stay home with, so reading a book in one day is unheard of. I couldn't put this book down. I'm eager to read more of James Patterson's novels. A+

James Patterson does it again, really interesting story!
WHAT A GREAT READ. I FINISHED IT IT ONE DAY, COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN!!!
This is a great read from James Patterson who spins an scary tale that will have you up till you finish the book.
OK, it's James Patterson, so that just about says everything. It's a clever story with plenty of humor and short, snappy chapters. The plot moves quickly and it's hard to stop reading once you start. Feel free to email with any questions. ~LeAnn
He might has well as called this one The Beach Novel, because it's the book people will be reasing at the Hamptons and elsewhere this summer.
Patterson frightens me to death; if that's your cuppa, you'll like Beach House. P. S. I never finished this book.
classic patterson
twists and turns and a fast read...so a typical patterson book..,very good!
mystery. typical James Patterson
Great read on and off the beach, definite page turner!
This was the first James Patterson that I have read. It's not something I usually read, but once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. The plot is fast-paced and interesting. It's an easy, entertaining read. If you've never read James Patterson before, give this book a try.
At first I wasn't sure.....but a good book.
another great book by patterson
Another Patterson great. He has not dissapointed me yet. Read through it very quickly. Action & drama a'plenty.

Was a great read. Didn't want to put it down! Exciting all he way through.
This mystery is fast moving and plausable. It kept my attention from start to finish.
very good book!
Another one of his scary books, but great plot details.
Beach House was one of those stories you just can't put down and I loved how the chapters are 1-3 pages long so you feel that you can just keep going. I loved it.
Love this book!
As with other Patterson books, this is a quick read which I didn't want to put down. Some events are predictable; others are not.
Another great Patterson book. Plenty of intrigue to keep you guessing.
Great patterson book. Enjoy!!
great light read
Another excellent book by James Patterson. 5 star recommendation from me
This book was well written. I appreciated the fact there were few swear words. I don't usually read books that have to do with murders, but this one held my attention and made me want to read more of the like. Good story-telling - surprise ending.
Great Read!
Seems more like the co-author's work than Patterson's, but a quick, nearly mindless read. Implausible, but suspenseful. Takes place on Long Island.
It was OK, alittle slow in parts.
Excellent off Alex Cross series book for Patterson, really suspenseful. I read this one in one day.
Excellent
Great book!
Was very well written. Kept my attention througout.
I only finished this book because I have great self-discipline. The ending was beyond unbelievable. Thank God I had read other Patterson novels prior to this one.
A fast and very entertaining read (short chapters). This is one for those who feel that sometimes there is no justice in this world!
Possably Patterson's finest work IMHO.
Not one of my favorites by James Patterson(too many loose ends)but still a quick read for vacation.
Very well written. I'm always imressed with writers that don't need gratuitous, graphical sexual references and indiscriminate profanity to make their writings interesting. Bravo!
This is a fast paced book, very easy to read. The chapters are only two or three pages each.
Very suspenseful!! I loved it!!
This story was SO_O_O_O GOOD! It moves along quickly and the very short chapters keep you wanting to read "just one more chapter"(kind of like trying to eat 'just one more potato chip'!!) It really keeps you guessing! I really enjoyed this book!
A law student in NY finds out his brother, who is an excellent swimmer, has drowned in the ocean off of the East Hamptons. A legal thriller that is fast paced culminating in a shocking finale. I thoroughly enjoyed the book as I do all of James Pattersons books.
Another great book..........A family and friends search to find the REAL answer to a murder and the proof that money cant buy everything.
Pretty good suspense book like other Patterson novels.
Nasty rich people. But, not so nasty that Jack Mullen can't handle them. A fun, gripping read.
When Jack is told that his brother Peter has drowned, he knows foul play is involved. Peter may have been a playboy, but he'd never have been swimming in the ocean that night. Jack's investigation has him colliding with one of the most powerful and ruthless men in New York. This is a breathtaking legal thriller of deceit and revenge.
Quick read. Keeps you in suspense throughout the whole story.
A Very Good Book! I have never read James Patterson before and I certainly enjoyed this one. An easy read...one I couldn't put down.
With four page chapters and countless moments of suspense The Beach House proves to be a read. At a celebrity filled Hamptons party a valet goes missing and is later found washed up on shore. The dead man's brother, Jack, suspects foul play and enters the dangerous game of uncovering the truth. He later finds out he is messing with some powerful people who take all necessary measures to keep the evidence a secret. A few deaths, some incriminating photographs, and a kidnapping later, we enter a very unique trial dealing with the good vs. evil and rich vs. poor battles. The Beach house is a page turner filled with celebrity name drops, murder, love, and deception.
The law student brother of a murder victim learns a lession in the unlimited power of the rich to buy cops and judges. But he's got a plan to beat the billionairs that will have your attention to the last page. A Patterson masterpiece!
The Beach House is a breathtaking legal thriller of deceit and revenge with a finale so shocking, it could only have come from the mind of James Patterson.
Keeps you wanting to get to the end.
Great read............

First book I have read by this author. Enjoyed it, I will be reading more!
Really enjoyed this fast, suspenseful read. Very Good!
Excellent book! Well written and typical of Patterson's great style and way!
Jack Mullen and Peter Mullen are brothers. Jack is a law student and Peter parks cars for the rich of the Hamptons. Peter's body is found on the beach. Jack knows the drowning wasn't an accident and feels that the power and money of the rich have "worked the system." Jack is going to do his best to uncover the truth.
Good suspenseful read.

A definite page turner----An unstoppable tale of love and vengeance among the super-rich and super-ruthless. It is a breathtaking legal thriller of deceit and revenge!
The Beach House was good, suspenseful, but not my favorite James Patterson novel.
I recieved The Beach House From my brother for my birthday three years ago. It has sat on my bookshelf taking up space.. since I have not read the book I do not have a review..
Catches your attention from the beginning and keeps it to the end. I read it in one sitting. Spellbinging.
This is a good book. A very fast read like most of his others. The end is somewhat far-fetched, but it is fiction!
Excellent stroy of revenge and spoiled wealth.
From the back of the box: "Jack Mullen is in law school in New York City when the news comes that his brother, Peter, has drowned in the ocean off East Hampton. Jack knows his brother practically grew up in the water, and that this couldn't be an accident. Someone must have wanted his brother dead.
But the police say otherwise. As Jack tries to uncover details of his brother's last night, he confronts a maddening barricade of lawyers, police, and paid protectors who separate the wealthy summer residents from local workers like Peter. Motivated by a hundred forms of grief, Jack rallies his hometown friends to help him find the truth of Peter's death-no matter how rich or corrupt the people who stand in their way.
Jack's relentless crusade puts him into a head-on collision with one of the most powerful and ruthless men in New York, a man who wipes out resistance with a snap of his fingers. As it unfolds that his brother was involved with some of the richest women and men in America-in ways Jack never imagined-his dream of justice fades. Only if he can somehow beat the rich at their own game will he be able to avenge his brother."

Good Plot, enjoyable read.
It has rich people, townies, good guys, bad guys, and twists. If you like Patterson's books set on the "Island", you'll love this one.

"The Beach House by James Patterson was a pretty good book and I would recommend it for anyone to read.
The book is pretty much about a murder. A man named Jack Mullen who is a student of the law (a lawyer) brother is killed. They say the murder was from drowning, but he was really beaten to death. The police wont help and neither will anyone else because really behind the sence the rich people run the town.
Jack Mullen is in search of why his brother really died and the rich dont like snooping around too much so it makes things pretty interesting. So it makes you think what did Peter do that got them so upset and what is Jack really getting himself into.
Really great book, pick it up today!" amazon review

AWSOME !!! OUTSTANDING !!! I couldn't put it down. One of Patterson/DeJonge's BEST!!! A true 'page turner' You'll love it.
Good suspense novel, had some good twists.
This book was good and I could not decide who did it until close to the end. I didn't like that the man who was killed was a prostitute for wealthy people, should have said that it the description.
Another great Patterson story - this time it is rich vs working class, neighbors and friends sticking together and "amazingly", justice proving it often isn't "for all"...
I did not put the book down until it was finished!
This book was great.

Exciting from first page.

Good like all Patterson books
Very interresting story line. Keep my attention all the way through to the end. Good - Easy read.
Another great book by James Patterson. I can't wait to read some more of his books. I was rather surprised by the ending, I should have known it would be a good one!
I enjoyed this book just like all his others.
With dust jacket.
As always, Patterson comes through!
Unabridged audio book on 5 cassettes. Written by James Patterson and Peter De Jonge.
