A wonderful book about the budding romance of a girl who came from a broken home; a mother who worked medial jobs to make ends meet and married men just to improve her daughter's life. Until she meets Neil, who Leah slowly warms up to. As Leah struggles to accept the fact that she is probably the only sixteen year old girl who has to check herself into the hospital for a broken finger while her mother and Neil are away celebrating their honeymoon, she meets an Amish family through her six year old roommate, Rebekah.
Rebekah has a hunky older brother Ethan who is as taken with Leah as she is with him. How will they be able to overcome their separate worlds- the English and the Amish to pursue a romance?
This book shows the power of young love, gives a wonderful insight into Amish beliefs and traditions, and watches Leah's struggle with coming to terms with her mother- mostly thanks to Neil and blunt honesty.
A wonderful book that will captivate you as you read, and reinforce your faith that angels are always watching and will lift you back up when you just can't find the strength.
I did not want to put this book down! It's a wonderful 3 part book that just keeps the reader wanting to flip to the next page while giving you something to chew on before you do.

The Angels Trilogy begins the Christmas Leah is stuck alone in an Indianapolis hospital. Her mother is thousands of miles away on her honeymoon with husband number five. Leah went to the doctor with nothing more than a broken finger, but he has ordered her to undergo some tests.
Leah is miserable until she meets her hospital roommate, An Amish girl named Rebekah, and Rebekah's big family. Sixteen-year-old Leah has never known people like this. From Rebekah's handsome brother, Ethan, who can barley look Leah in the eyes, to her kind older sister, Charity, the Amish family captivates Leah with its simple, loving ways. When Leah discovers she has cancer, her new friends show her that miracles can happen. And that sometimes angels appear in the most unexpected places.

Maybe I'll write a real review if I ever stop crying. I could hardly read the last ten pages because I couldn't see through the tears. I can't remember the last time a book has affected me this way.

I enjoyed this book to a certain extent but struggled with the main girl, Leah. To me she is whiny and lacking character compared to Ethan the main guy. He is kind and likable and steadfast and Leah is not really equal to him in my opinion. I kept wanting to bond with her but sadly never did. I liked her most when she stood up to the boy at school in the last book. I wish the author could've let us see more of what Ethan saw in her. Never the less it was an interesting and enjoyable read.
