SO I really really wanted to like this...one because I'd heard good things about Dakota Cassidy. and two because the cover was really really cute...so it just had to be good, right? Well the axiom about never judging a book by it's cover has never been more true than it was for me with this book.
well, okay that's pushing it a little ...The hero was good...you know except for the whole let's not tell the accidentally turned werewolf heroine all the things she needs to know in order to be a good/accepted accidentally turned werewolf heroine. It might have been better had we had more from his POV, though as it stands it's like a 20 to 80 percent split, with the 20 percent from his perspective.
His immediate family (a sister and a brother) were nice too...I Wouldn't mind reading their stories (provided they're as little like this one as possible)
And yes there are funny moments...cutesy funny, but funny none-the-less. There's also quite a bit of cursing (so for those of you bothered by that, be warned)
Now why the book wasn't nearly as good as it could have been? The Heroine. She's supposedly 30 but ends up sounding like a 16 year old....And not just any 16 year old, but a ditzy one at that. She keeps zoning out, and as the reader we're subjected to the horrors of her mind...I had to keep skimming all the bits that took place in her head, (and there's quite a few of them) just to stay sane...
And the ending (the solution to the almost-mystery ) comes out of nowhere...If she'd built up to it, it would be one thing, but this comes so far out of left field you'd need a freaking crystal ball to see it coming.
I'll admit, I'll try another book by Ms. Cassidy but it'll take some time to forget the taste of this one, and it'll be with much lower expectations.

This is NOT a serious book! It is totally LOL funny! There IS a lot of swearing if that bothers you but I would sorta expect it from someone who's just found out they're a werewolf! The heroine comes across as a bit ditzy from some of the conversation but from reading the entire book you get a different feel for her; at least I did. A nice romance too..loved the hero in this one and there's some hot sex here and there as well. She's very sarcastic and funny and was just what I needed to read today! I ordered the next book in the series before I even finished with this one that's how good it is! Just hilarious!

This book tried to be a paranomal-romantic-suspense-chick lit and IMHO failed in all levels. I didn't think it was funny (I didn't even crack a smile) the suspense part was ridiculous and formulaic, the paranormal aspect was totally undeveloped (they would go in circles discussing the same things) and the romance was cliche. Worse, the scenes would switch from what the author would have liked to qualify as 'funny' banter to graphic, 5-pages-long sex scenes that left me thinking WTF? I didn't care for any of the characters: the heroine was totally TSTL and the hero was supposed to be the alpha male of the pack and everybody did what they wanted. I'll definitely will not read the second in the series (removing it from my WL as we speak.)

This was a great chick lit! The characters were fun and interesting from the start. When Marti is bitten by a "dog" while trying to save her poodle from an attack in an alley, she is thrown into a paranormal world of werewolves. It only gets funnier from there. From being kidnapped to cordinatoring her color wheel of life, Marti finds love and two great friends on the way. Accidental Dead is a great follow up and even better. Can't wait for the third book--The Accidental Human.
Definately a keeper in the personal book collection.

This book was a very quick read and it had it's share of funny parts in it. However I found that the main character, "Marty" seemed to annoy me more than anything else. And I felt like the ending was rather sudden. I liked how the werewolves were done as well as almost all the other characters... Overall, I simply liked the book because it did entertain me, even if half of the time I was also annoyed.

Funny, paranormal romance by Dakota Cassidy. Marty Andrews is a hung-ho Bobbie Sue Cosmetics consultant (think Mary Kay). She's bitten by a dog one night, then hunky Keegan knocks on her door and tells her that he's a werewolf and he bit her. Being a werewolf doesn't fit into Marty's plans, not to mention her color wheel, and she thinks Keegan is a hot nutcase. This is a light, fun story. Enjoyed it.

This was a cute book. It wasn't good enough (for me) to want to finish the series, but it didn't make you drag yourself through it

Marty Andrews is a fanatical Bobbie-Sue cosmetics seller (basically an avon lady) who gets bitten by a mangy mutt in the first chapter. If I had to read one more sentence about her (or anyone else's) freaking color wheel, I was going to scream...who the hell cares anyway! I know the heroine has to have some job but could the author have made it more irritating. Keegan Flaherty, the dog, er werewolf who bit her is the alpha of his pack and feels obligated to help this newbie werewolf. It's no hardship since he's instantly attracted to this nutty whack-a-doo anyway.
I had a very difficult time getting into this book since Marty is one of the TSTL heroines that you just want to smack in the head but Keegan...yummy!
Marty's cursing was very inventive and humorous: Christ on a cracker or Jesus Christ in a miniskirt, totally cracked me up. Marty's stream of consciousness was hilarious. 1. She was an honest-to-goodness, car-chasing, howl-at-the-moon, fur-shedding dog. woof-woof. 2. Yeah she had some kooky shit going on from her caboose. 3. Ohhh bacon! Glorious in its promise to slap some cellulite direclty on her tail-licious ass. And my personal favorite...4. The Flaherty brothers had been hit with a tsunami of hotness by the hottie Gods.

Sort of cute. Had to force myself to read the first chapter, could be cause of storyline but could just be because i'm not a huge makeup fan. there was no leading up to a twist in the story was just thrown together and landed in your lap. doubt I'll read anymore, was looking for something to read until another BDB came out so I'll keep looking for something else

Total disappointment! This has gotten so many positive reviews, but it was really pretty bad. No redeeming features - nothing appealing about the writing, the characters or the plotline. Thank heavens for silly plot devices: the yappy little dog was probably the most intelligent character in the book.

Loved all of Dakota Cassidy's books, but if you are adverse to strong language you may not want to read any of her titles. I was able to overlook the language and truly enjoyed this witty book!
