This is the Women's Club 9th book. It was exciting with lots of action and one of James Patterson's better books. It is an easy read and a book that can not be put down. It takes place in San Francisco with great accuracy. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area so I know that everything cited in the book about the city, landscape, people and atmosphere is accurate. If you are a fan of James Patterson's books, I recommend this book as an enjoyable read.

Personally, I enjoyed this book, but that's not to say that I don't have my gripes about it. Lately these books have really been focusing on Lindsay's character, which is fine except that the series is still considered the Women's Murder Club .... so why aren't we seeing the other characters more? I also felt like the ending was a bit forced. It makes you wonder what will happen in the 10th book in this series, but it wasn't as good as his endings usually are. Honestly, these are okay brain candy, but his Alex Cross series is a million times better.

This was a very good boook, though it was hard to read especially if you are a mother or a parent in general. It was a very good book, and I think it was one of the best out of the series. The only gripe I had was that parts of the ending felt a little forced and a little rushed. I did like the way that it totally left you wondering what would happen in the next book.

With the 9th installment of the Womens Murder Club, I feel pretty well connected to the characters, having gotten to know them over the last nine books. I love them all equally, but hats off go to Claire as the one in the group who really stood out for me in this book. Shes very direct and isnt afraid to speak her mind. I dont want to give anything away, but the last chapter of the book was so much better, thanks to Claire.
Lindsay has two very high profile murder cases in this book. First up is Hello Kitty, so named by Cindy. Kitty is a cat burglar, a very successful cat burglar I might add, but her job at famous movie star, Marcus Dowlings house ends with a murder that Kitty did not commit. The second is the Lipstick Killer, so named because he guns down women and children and then leaves his calling card in lipstick on the victims windshield. Unfortunately, the powers that be at SFPD feel the Marcus Dowling case is more important and demands Lindsay devote all her attention to this one instead of the other one. Lindsay soon learns that working one will bring her closer to the other one.
As the layers of both cases are peeled back, Lindsay finds herself trying to stay one step ahead of a woman and child hating sadistic killer and an elusive cat burglar torn between risking her freedom by coming forward to set the record straight or doing just one more job that will ensure her financial security and freedom.
I really loved how the story played out but I do have a few grievances. First of all, Lindsay and Joe are still together and still engaged. I really dont understand and definitely dont like where Patterson is going with Lindsays attraction to her partner, Rich Conklin. Rich has just started a relationship with Cindy and I would love to see where that leads. I think Lindsay and Joe make an excellent couple and I want them to stay together. Mr. Patterson, please stop stirring the pot of deception. If Lindsay cheats on Joe with Rich, she will lose Joe and Cindy and Mr. Patterson will lose me as a fan. I get that adultery is a plot device that elevates tension in the story, but I cant stand it, especially when its the storys protagonist who does it.
Secondly, the entire epilogue was cold-blooded and I felt didnt need to be included in the story. It had no bearing on the story or anything that had happened. It left more questions at the end than answers, especially regarding Lindsays career and position at SFPD. James Patterson usually does an excellent job of tying up loose ends and ripping the rug out from under me with some of the plot twists and turns, so I really didnt understand the need for this epilogue. If the epilogue puts to rest any of the confusing feelings Lindsay is having for Rich, then all is forgiven, but I dont think it will. So, unfortunately, I am not rating this book as high as I would, because the epilogue really pulled me out of the story and left me without any closure. I am anticipating the 10th book with the hopes that there will be some tying up of the loose ends. Overall, I am still a fan of this series and look forward to what Lindsay, Claire, Cindy and Yuki face next.

I truly enjoyed this installment and finished it in less than 3 days. Can not wait to read the next book. I encourage anyone who enjoys mysteries or crime stories to read this series.

This is one of the better books in the Women's Murder Club series. It's fast-paced and has several different criminal actions going on that involve the members of the WMC.
In first person point of view, Sergeant Lindsay Boxer of the SFPD juggles simultaneous investigations involving the shooting death of the wife of a movie star, tracking a cat burglar who steals from the rich during dinner parties, and chasing a psycho dubbed the LIPSTICK KILLER who is running rampant in the garages of San Francisco shopping malls killing women and their children. The other members of the WMC, Yuki, Claire, and Cindy, are all involved, as usual, in various aspects of these cases. This particular book is more focused on Lindsay although the romance between Cindy and Lindsay's current partner Rich Conklin, also gets some page time.
Although not great literature, this was an absorbing and entertaining page turner; a quick read with Patterson's trademark short chapters, perfect for summer travel or for reading while lounging at the pool with a cold drink.

Quick read. Always gotta love James Patterson books! The only problem I had was that it was too easy to figure out the outcome.
I enjoyed the book. I have read the whole series. It is a very enjoyable and fast read.
I have loved all of the Women's Murder Club books. This one was no exception. It was a good book and I can't wait to read the 10th one. I hope it is just as good.

I could not put this one down. This cast of characters is so good and gives Patterson so many angles to write about. There was a quirky little thing near the end that didn't seem to fit in to me but I loved the book overall.
I eagerly put aside whatever else I may be reading to dive into Patterson's Women's Murder Club books. I enjoyed this one as much as I did the first eight!

A very satisfying read. Typical Patterson with a lot of mystery, police work, terrific characters and a touch of romance. What more could you ask for? Short chapters, great dialogue and can't-put-it-down excitement. Enjoy!
This was a very good book I am so glad I read this book. The ending was different but good.
Patterson is awesome as always. Although I sometimes think that the main character Lindsey Boxer thinks a little too mcuh of herself.

VERY GOOD BOOK in the "Women's Murder Club" series. Read it in just a little more than 2 hours. Gotta love those very short chapters of James Pattersons!!! This book was very hard to put down!!!!!

I've always enjoyed this series but this one was spectacular. There were three crimes up in the air: a cat burglar, a celebrity murder and a serial killer killing moms and babies. Poor Lindsay didn't know which end was up and gets caught up in more danger than she's ever experienced. As usual, there was action built on top of action and the mayhem didn't end until the last chapter.
I particularly enjoy the interpersonal relations between friends Lindsay (cop), Yuki (lawyer), Claire (medical examiner) and Cindy (reporter). It's always interesting to see how they handle all the confidential information while still remaining the best of friends.
I don't want to give anything away but there is a definite cliffhanger which is very annoying but I guess the heroine can't get the bad guys all the time...huh?

Sergeant Lindsay Boxes and her team of co-workers, friends and outside influences are battling two horrific crime scenes simultaneous. There is only so much of Lindsay to go around which is why she has surrounded herself with great friends and women who are as supportive as they are brutally honest. This time though Lindsay is truly out there on her own as she battles a high profile robbery turned homicide and serial killer who is targeting young mothers and their babies.
While the burglary seems to be part of a string performed by the Hello Kitty bandit the question of why someone got killed this time is puzzling. The husband is an actor that may be putting on a great performance for the police as his story is so well rehearsed that it might not be believable and his excuses too flimsy. But the truly baffling crime spree seems to be coming from someone who is shooting women and their children leaving cryptic messages at each crime scene with the same letters but in different order. Nothing matches anything ever witnessed before and Lindsay is willing to put everything she has on the line to get this one closed even take her clothes off and prance around just to prove to the killer she is serious about stopping him.
While the murder of the rich socialite gets the attention the serial killer is escalating his behavior and making less sense at each crime scene. Lindsay tries to stay on top of both fronts but when the demands from the serial killer make it seem like he is less about vengeance and more about money she turns her attention in that direction because this person is truly more dangerous.
But just as things seem to be completely out of control the Hello Kitty bandit calls Lindsay and confesses to the burglaries but not the murder and convinces Lindsay that something is not adding up on any front with any of the husband's story. Yet just when you think nothing can get stranger it does and in the minute it takes to open a package or ring a doorbell everything explodes and goes into every other direction you thought it might lead.
Pay attention readers because this book moves fast, furious and in 10 different directions which lead you on a journey of unexpected conclusion. While this series has every woman plays a specific and critical role in this book Lindsay is the character that plays out as the lead. She is running two cases, trying to manage a personal life that seems to finally come together and dealing with departmental politics something she is not particularly good at. Her friends are there to keep the storyline flavorful and add some touches of honesty but overall Lindsay shines as the one woman in the group that does hold her own among everyone

Great book.
Great read!
Story line was not my favorite as it involved children. Book is well written (typical of Patterson) but the ending was pretty punk. I'll read his next book regardless.
This was another great book about Lindsay Boxer and her friends. The book was an easy read. I just wish we could have had a little more interaction between her and her friends. Still a good read.
Once again good book. Love this series. Very easy read.
Dectective Lindsay Boxer chases a cat burglar, a killer with a vendetta against women and children and suspects a beloved movie star of killing his wife and trying to act his way out of being caught. And to top it all off Lindsay is getting in her way of being happy with her fiance and is putting her working partnership and friendship with the Murder Club in danger.

READ THIS BOOK IN 2 1/2 HOURS STRAIGHT! DID NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN! I FEEL THIS IS ONE OF HIS VERY BEST IN THE "WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB" SERIES!!! LOVED IT...HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU READ THIS ONE IF YOU ENJOY LINDSAY BOXER STORIES!!!

love the series
As usual, another GREAT book by James Patterson! I have read the book and passed it along to my daughter who also is a Patterson fan - so unfortunately, I won't be able to repost the book to PaperBack Swap.
Loved this book. Enjoyed this book more than the last couple of the womes club. Great story line, good characters. The only thing hard to take is the little children being killed.
