Eleanor owns and writes for her own paper; a gossip column. So when one of her subjects offers to take her around and show what happens behind the scenes, she jumps at the chance. Daniel wants to distract her. He is searching for his friend, Jonathon, a war veteran suffering from PTSD. Jonathon is also the heir due to the death of his brother. Apparently it would be scandalous if word got out about his disappearance.
As they get to know each other, they gradually fall for each other. Daniel isn't the scandalous person he was made out to be. Eleanor has quick wit, intelligence, and honesty. I really liked Eleanor; she was a self-made woman. Daniel was pretty fantastic too; he could admit when he was wrong and accepted help when offered. The big reason why this wasn't a 4 star for me was it took too long for me to get into this. For about the first 1/2 of the book it was easy to put down. I also thought the ending was a bit abrupt (the epilogue did help).
