From all the recent hype, I was expecting a great book but I'll have to admit I was somewhat disappointed. Yes, the character development is great, although I was a little overwhelmed at first with the number of characters introduced, but the author does provide a glossary in the form of "Mac's Journal" to help keep characters straight. The storyline was entertaining, and even kept me up late a couple of nights, but one of the tags for this book is romance and KMM is known for her romances so I expected a lot more in that department. There were a couple of sex scenes and I can sense a growing attraction between Mac and Barrons but I'm hoping that due to the number of characters introduced and the history with each, there was simply no "time" to introduce a romance in this book. However, I am intrigued enough to continue with the series and look forward to seeing where the characters and story go.
