I have read other books by this author and have enjoyed them. This one was OK. I read the first 150 pages and then started skipping paragraphs and pages.

The book is told from a young girls point of view. The setting is Early London. Lucy was born into a high society. Then one day a long lost relative shows up and her world is turned upside down. A story then enfolds on what happens to Lucy as she grows from a girl into a Women.

I think this is a great storyline, it just needed better writing to keep the reader engaged. Maybe I became bored because I knew what was going on before the main character did. But Maybe I didnt?
