There are many reasons books are self published. I think this one was self published because a publisher would not publish it.
There are so many cozy mysteries out there, and this one is not worth your time.
It does have cats and a mystery, but it is dull, predictable. The author doesnt know how to introduce all the characters so she just starts explaining the sibling order of her Main character.
So this cute gal, runs a cat sanctuary on a fictional island off of San Juan. She takes in stray and Feral cats, and she socializes the cats to rehome them. I didnt not get this wrong. If they cant be socialized then they just stay at the sanctuary. No mention of Trap Nueter and return is ever brought up. Then in the story the MC is at the bank and is itching, and she is infested near her neck with fleas. Really? Her human body is infested. She carried fleas on her neck from her home, on her bike to the bank.
Those 2 annoying issues aside, this book is boring and I finished it anyway. It was only about 181 pages. A man is murdered and it might be tied up in the island controversy about allowing some condos to be built. He was on the committee that will vote them down or accept the new development. The island is split on the issue.
Card board characters, I mean she even just right out states one person is blonde haired and blue eyed. but not even in a creative way: She runs her hair through her blonde curls and her eyes flashed the deep blue of the ocean. No just something like. She is blonde haired and blue eyed.
I know we are all looking for something new to read, and I hate to be so negative to a new author, but I also dont want to see you waste your time. There are too many other and better cat cozies out there.
