The enjoyable storyline is about a sicko serial killer who is self proclaimed as the "the Storyteller", who proceeds to knock off successful Hollywood women and mothers, and then sending emails from one "Mary Smith" sent to the LA Times explaining the murders in detail. Competition between the FBI and LAPD's pursuits is a common footnote to much of the proceedings. The end, will totally surprise you by the identity of the perpetrator. I truly find myslef caught up in the bits about Cross and his kids and I get as much caught up into their lives as I do the murder cases. THis is another good book from Patterson and a tremendous suspense that is hard to put down.
