Gone Girl is a good read, but not a great one. Flynn provides two great characters in this novel. "Amazing" Amy and her husband Nick switch back and forth to unfold their story. Amy through a personal journal, and Nick in his own voice. It seems a little slow at times, but does provide some clues as to what is going to happen later in the story. Flynn writes well, and builds the story, providing twists and turns, two very good character studies, and some dark humor, but ultimetly falls short with the ending, which was flat and somewhat contrived.
