I usually love Cynthia Eden's stuff. This one was OK, but felt just a bit off from her usual stuff (not sure if it suffers from the dreaded middle book curse).

The first 100 pages were a little difficult to get through as it's a back step in the storyline going over Sabine & Ryder's time in Genesis (pre-break out that happens in book 1). And, well, from Book 1, we know what Genesis is all about so that 100 pages tends to read like Hostel and is a little too much doom and torture for me when I'm expecting steamy steamy.

But, once they are free, things heat up nicely. However, the sex scenes do seem to be timed kinda strangely. Although, who *doesn't* have a quick balling in an alley after escaping a room full of vamps.

Worth the read if you're going to go forward in the series, but might want to speed through the first 1/3 to get to new action.
