I felt that this book was written with better grammar and richer detail than it's sequel, Lion of the North. However, it didn't have the same chemistry. As much as Ross talked about "truth" and "trust" I would have liked to at least seen an intimation that he revealed his pain to Megan, but I guess I will just have to assume that he did.

I have only read two of Barclay's books, but I think she is my favorite romance artist. I don't see that she wrote any single titles before she died which is a shame, I think she had the talent.

I highly recommend this book, especially if you are a fan of historicals.
