This is a rambling book that tells the stories of ups and downs in a woman's life as a marketer and businessperson. She helped build the brands for POM, Teleflora, Franklin Mint, and many others. This is more of a biography and personal story than a how-to book. It has some sentences here and there that are repeated in highlighting as the moral of a tale. Other than that it is very stream of consciousness, written more chronologically from the author's point of view than for improving your own business. Some interesting history and good to hear about a woman that was so involved with company leadership going back to the 1950s for nearly 60 years in the business world. Covers some issues like gaining trust from employees, firing people, responding to business pitches, negotiations, and finding what she was good at and what happened when she went beyond her comfort points.
