First i must say that you dont need to be in your 40s or older for this book to work for you... Im only in my 20's and already starting to see that the carbs i eat are doing different things to my body (and not good things!!) than they did when I was in my teens and early twenties. The first half of the book is strait to the point and easy to understand diet advice as well as healthy living advice including self evaluation that not only tells you if you are or arent a carb addict (which im sure you already know if you are reading the book to begin with) the self evaluation digs deeper to classify the severity of your carb addiction and then gets to the bottom of the cause and results of your addiction and what to do about it (ie: why you are craving what you do, and what the carbs you eat are doing to you and how to reverse the whole cycle). The other half of the book consists of a progress chart, daily meal plans and recipes, which I liked because many diet books tell you what you need to do and eat but not how to prepare the foods you are supposed to be eating. (so you end up either giving up on the diet completly, or buying some crappy tasting diet food, or trying to make something that should be healthy but it really isnt because you are using the wrong ingredients etc) In whole, the diet is pretty easy to stick to because the recipes are tasty and pretty easy to make thus making it easy to integrate into your daily life.
