Book Review of Live From New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live, as Told By Its Stars, Writers and Guests

This book breaks the SNL Dynasty into six logical time-based groupings and uses quotes from cast, staff, guests and crew to reveal insights that fans of the show will appreciate.

There is an entire chapter dedicated to the genius that is Lorne Michaels. I've always found it funny that the man who virtually owns the comedy genre gives off the impression of such an authoritarian straight guy.

The book is thorough in its 565-page coverage, but made easily digestible by the quote format. There is also an appendix listing every cast member by season.
