Nice cookbook from the most requested recipes of the Good Food column. The recipes are clear, and the ingredients are well listed out and precise. The photos, always my favorite part of a cookbook, are really beautiful. They give you an idea of what the dish will look like, and some presentation examples that aren't intimidating. The recipes are wonderful, and run the gamut from things to make for an average night's dinner to things to make for company. There are several kinds of pot roast, Beef Brioche, Eye of Round in Onion Sauce, Western Chicken, Roast Chicken in Mushrooms, and some interesting off beat items as well: Sauerkraut Alsatian (German) Style; Herbed Lamb Loaf, Curried Scallops, Blue Cheese Broiled Tomatos; Skillet Pie (sweet apple pie in an iron skillet) and more. This would be a great "starting out" cookbook - it has a little bit of everything, explains things well, and has photos so you know what you're getting into before you start.
