The Sunroom is a story about a girl's relationship with her mother and with our Lord. Becky Owens's mother becomes ill and everyone thinks it is just the flu. But as time passes, she is taken to the doctor and then hospitalized. Becky is twelve years old and loves to play the piano, a talent she got from her mother. While her mother is hospitalized, Becky nor her younger sister are allowed to visit her as the rules at the hospital do not allow children twelve and under to visit anyone. Her mother has surgery and as she improves, she walks to the sunroom on her hospital floor. From there she can look out and see her two girls and wave. But things are still touch and go. Frightened and concerned, Becky turns to God and tries to make a "deal" with him if He will only keep her mother alive. She lives for the time she can see her Mom in the sunroom, even from a distance. Then she learns that the doctors are sending her mother home; there is nothing else they can do. Will God let her mother die, despite the deal she worked out with Him? This is a touchingly beautiful tale about love, faith, patience, giving and most of all, trusting in the Lord. I highly recommend it for its lovely message.
