This is a no-holds-barred thriller. It has a mysterious disease set loose in the Seattle subway system, international terrorists and counter-terrorist agents, and lots and lots of best-seller trappings. It rips by at a fearsome rate. That all sounds good, doesn't it?
Well, G. M. Ford is an excellent writer; I just wish he wouldn't waste his time on writing to the best-seller formula. He's good enough that some of his personal genius shines through the formula work, but he's also left some confusing loose ends (to me, anyway) and never really made clear who one of the shadowy characters was.
It's a nice fast ride through a somewhat unbelievable landscape, so it's fun even if it's not up to his normal standards.
