The actual title of this book (except for "The Tastemakers") is different from what is listed on PBS.

Foodies will enjoy this book, which reads more like a series of loosely connected essays about food trends. The reader is taken behind the scenes of a specialty food show, into an industrial kitchen attempting to invent the next big snack food, and follows aspiring chefs and veteran tastemakers. The chapter about health food trends is a bit alarming.

This book is humorous and full of interesting information about the history of food, though a tad long-winded at times.
